I've posted something similar recently, but I just wanted to consolidate into one post.
Basically, triple display only works when the first monitor is connected to the laptop's built-in hdmi port first, then the 2nd monitor is connected to the usb-c-hdmi2.0 adapter.
Any other order, any other configuration involving displayport, will not work.
There's only one way you can get laptop screen + 4k@60hz + 4k@30hz triple display.
Here are my video demos---------
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EDZ3u3rtSK0 triple display on hdmi ports success - YouTube
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jBgLtmcX3NA triple display fail on hdmi ports. - YouTube
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EGUc8qF_d9w triple display attempt on hdmi and displayport fails # 1 - YouTube
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AqYB8WiBpjk triple display attempt on hdmi and displayport fails # 2 - YouTube
Dual display works in any configuration.
I bought 3 different adapters to try.
I used a usb-c hdmi adapter made by Kanex which supports 1080p@60hz and 4k@30hz, and set all screens to 1080p.
If the Kanex usb-c adapter is plugged in first, followed by the built-in hdmi port, triple display will not run.
If you reverse the order and plug in the built-in hdmi port first, followed by the Kanex usb-c adapter, then triple display will work.
The third usb-c hdmi adapter is made by Cellet, and it supports 4k@30hz. With this adapter, no matter what order you plug in the external monitors, the screens will blink every few seconds. In this case, Intel graphics control panel detects all 3 displays, but can't stabilize the configuration and keep it from blinking.

I just installed the latest beta driver released on 4/29.
Looks like there is slight improvement, but not fully fixed.
As shown in youtube video link # 2 in first post, previously, the 2 external monitors would just flicker if the usb-c hdmi adapter is connected before the built-in hdmi port, and neither monitor would display anything.
Now with the new beta driver, the usb-c hdmi monitor connected first will display a picture, but the 2nd external monitor connected subsequently to the built-in hdmi port will not light up. The 2nd external monitor remains off in sleep mode,
in fact, shows a "No hdmi signal" message on the screen before going to sleep.
However, both Windows 10 Display Settings and Intel Graphics Control panel show all 3 displays as if they are active. (see attached)
One good thing now is that triple display detection does not cause a computer blinking spasm.
As before, with this newest beta driver, triple display still works successfully if the two external monitors are plugged in this order.....
1) built-in hdmi port
2) usb-c hdmi adapter.

Hello, link626:
Thank you for your answer on this.
I would like you to test the following:
1. Set all displays to 1080p and then test the behavior of the displays.
2. Once done and if doable, start increasing each monitor/display resolution to see if it is at certain point where it doesn't work properly.
3. I would like to double check the native resolution of the built-in display of your device (apparently 4k)
I look forward to your outcome with this.

Esteban C

The native resolution of the builtin display is only 1080p.
The only 4k monitor is the 4k samsung TV.
I want to add to my previous post- when the built-in hdmi port is connected last, the corresponding monitor, in fact, shows a "No hdmi signal" message on the screen before going to sleep, while the Intel control panel shows it as active.
I set all displays to 1080p as you requested. Same result.
If built-in hdmi is connected last, that monitor is still asleep, but Intel control panel shows it as active.
As soon as I disconnect the usb-c hdmi adapter, the built-in hdmi's monitor wakes up and displays picture.
Then reconnecting the usb-c hdmi adapter lights up all 3 displays again.
The main reason this is an issue is that 4k monitors can't do 60hz on 99% of new laptops using the native hdmi 1.4 port. 4k@30hz is painful to work with.
More people are now using 4k external display on a thunderbolt3/usb-c gen2, and they will always have the usb-c already connected, either to a usb-c displayport monitor, or a usb-c hdmi 2.0 4K TV/monitor.
Occasionally, users will want to connect a second external monitor or an hdmi projector to the native hdmi 1.4 port, and the only way this will work is if you unplug everything and re-plug in a specific order.
It's a small hassle, but this workaround should not be needed.

Hey, link626:
I just noticed that in the other thread you have for this, you mentioned that this was a HW and after changing the motherboard the issue was fixed.
Would like to set this as the correct answer to close this up, hope you don't mind.
If any additional inquiries come to mind, feel free to let contact us back.
Regards,
Esteban C
