Trying to determine max size of SATA drive supported for chipset

Hello.

I am trying to determine what the max size SATA hard drive is that we can use in our server.

We have a Dell Poweredge 800 server with 4meg RAM, two 80meg SATA hard drives on the motherboard and an Intel E7221 MCH chipset.

Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

Thanks,

Tony

Hello,

I know there is an old intel (r) server board which has got the chipset e7221.

Probably, a quick look at the tested harddrives list can give some hints.

I can see that the max sata drive that was tested on this board was 500GB.

More info on this board can be obtained from:

All the best,

Kind Regards,

Aryan.
