Hi Guys,
I use HP Envy laptop Intel core i7 with UHD graphics card also built-in with Nvidia Geforce MX250. My problem is, I'm unable to attach my 4th screen (including laptop). By looking at Intel graphic control panel, I've realized that there is NO ROOM for 4th laptop.
So I contact you, please let me know, in case if there is any solution, or I must get the rid of my laptop
Very best,
Kash

Yes, 3 monitors is the limit for the iGFX engine in the 10th gen processors. If you want to use additional monitor(s), you need to have an additional dGFX engine to support them. As I said, I believe that the MX250 is exposed via overlay through the iGFX engine, so does not support any monitor connectors directly. The only ways that I know of for adding an additional dGFX engine to laptops is via either Thunderbolt or USB. USB is the easiest (and cheapest), though likely too slow for gaming. Here are some examples of such engines:
- Single 2K@60Hz HDMI US$46: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00H91BQ7Y.
- Dual (4K@30Hz + 2K@60Hz) HDMI US$55: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0725K1MHH (I have one of these; works great).
- Dual (4K@60Hz + 4K@60Hz) HDMI US$118: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07C69HG33.
Hope this helps,

TheKash, Thank you for posting in the Intel® Communities Support.
We will be more than glad to assist you with this matter.
In order for us to provide the most accurate assistance on this scenario, we just wanted to confirm a few details about your system:
Is this a new computer?
What is the model of the monitors being used?
Were you able to successfully attach a 4th monitor on this specific machine before?
If yes, when did the issue start?
Did you make any recent hardware/software changes that might cause this problem?
Are you using adapters converters or docking stations?
Does the problem happen at home or in the work environment?
Please attach the SSU report so we can verify further details about the components in your platform, check all the options in the report including the one that says "3rd party software logs":

Hello Albert,
Thank you for your response. I answer to your questions hereunder:
1)I've been using this laptop for over 2 years, so this isn't new machine, however 2 monitors are very well connected & work w/o any problem.
2) All three monitors are Dell 1) Dell P2217 2) Dell U2412M 3) Dell S2421H both 3 24 inch in size
3) I just started to trying to attach 4th monitor for trading purpose, I did never try it before
4) Issue just started since I intended to bring 4th monitor
5) I didn't change any thing in hardware
6) I use HDMI & Video splitter, it seems docking station but not profession docking hub. Again 2 monitor 1) with display cable 2) with HDMI cable already work through this splitter device (I don't how does it call)
7) I've home office, so problem occurred in home/office environment
Hope you will find any solution.
Best,
Kash

Many 11th gen and all 10th gen and earlier processors can support a maximum of three displays.
In some cases, laptops with an additional graphics engine have support for additional displays, but I do not believe that this is the case with the MX250 (I believe thst this uses overlay through the Intel Graphics engine).
Hope this helps,

Hello n_scott_pearson
Thank you for your response to my post.
This is my laptop's processor specification: Intel(R) Core (Tm) i7-10510U CPU @ 1.80 GHZ, 2304 Mhz, 4 Core(s) 8 Logical p
So, should I assume that the machine I've been using doesn't support more then 3 monitors, that's all ?
Looking forward to your response
Best,
Kash
