Unable to connect HDMI out (Intel HD Graphic) to a plasma TV

I have a Lenovo all in one with Intel HD Graphic card which has a HDMI out port. I tried to plug the HDMI out to my new LG PK950 TV but neither the TV nor the computer can recognize each other. I try to play around with the display settings but still no luck. I've spent hours on this issue but could not get it to work. Despreately need help!!! I need to be able watch some movies on my new TV via the computer. Please help!!!!

I tried to narrow the problem down -- the HDMI cable is good and I was able to connect a laptop to the tv through HDMI so that leads me to feel that maybe some settings on the computer is missing....
