I have a custom app that is used to view a large (>40,000 pixels wide) image, allowing one to pan around the image.
When I start panning, the system RAM usage of the app increases dramatically, frequently to use all free memory. The scrolling/panning slows down.
If I uninstall the Intel driver (leaving the Microsoft Basic driver), this does not happen. I can scroll around smoothly with minimal memory usage.
I was wondering if the driver is trying to do some video processing? Is it possible to completely turn this off?
I am using an Intel i5-1340P with the Iris Xe iGPU. When I try the same on 11th gen CPUs (also Iris Xe) e.g. i5-1145G7, there are no such problems. Again, it scrolls smoothly with minimal memory usage. Maybe they do not support video processing?
I have tried it on another 13th gen CPU and a Core Ultra 155H - same problem. The older processors are fine. Latest Iris Xe driver 32.0.101 installed on all.
Windows 11 Home 24H2. 16 GB 3200 DDR4.

I have tried turning off all the Video options in Command Centre, but no change.
