When will Intel release the PRM for BMG gpu?

I browsed the website https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/docs/graphics-for-linux/developer-reference/1-0/overview.html  and found that it seems to have stopped updating. The latest GPU prm is for Alchemist GPU. The new generation of Intel graphics cards has been released for more than half a year. When will Intel update these prm documents?

Hi @foa ,

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. I understand your concern regarding the updates to the GPU PRM documents. I will look into this on my end to gather more information about the expected timeline for updates. In the meantime, if there are specific features or details you're interested in, please let me know, and I'll do my best to assist you.

To help us better understand your needs, could you provide the following details:

  • Which specific documents or sections are you referring to on the website?
  • Are there particular features or updates you are looking for in the new generation of Intel graphics cards?
  • Have you checked other sections of the Intel website for updates or related information?

I look forward to your response.

Warm regards,

Hi @RandyT_Intel ,

Sorry for the late reply. Thanks for your reply. I'll add some information here.

I'm looking for BMG GPU's command reference, memory data format, memory view and other hardware specification documents. These should be part of the open source programmer's reference manual. Just like the PRM of the Alchemist/Arctic Sound-M platform (as shown below). With the open source programmer's reference manual, I can study bare metal programming based on Intel GPU and GPU driver development for third-party systems. But I found that Intel hasn't updated the GPU programmer's reference manual for a long time, and the latest one is for the Alchemist/Arctic Sound-M platform.

I searched other parts of the Intel website and didn't find these documents.

I look forward to your response.

Dear @RandyT_Intel ,

Hope this message finds you well! I truly appreciate your proactive assistance on May 25th regarding the BMG GPU programmer's reference manuals (command reference, memory formats, etc.).

Since it’s been over a month since your last update, I wanted to kindly check if there’s any progress from the internal team. These documents are critical for my work on bare-metal programming and third-party driver development, and I’m eager to align my projects with Intel’s latest GPU technologies.

Completely understand that coordinating across teams takes time—just hoping for a brief status update when convenient. Thank you again for your support!

Best regards,
foa

Hello,

I just want to check in on the topic, as I'm waiting for a long time on the PRM for the Intel ARC-B GPUs and it has been over a year that an update was posted here.
So, can we expect the PRM soon or will there be no publically available PRM?

With kind regards

Jona Heywinkel

@Compaszer we don't have such documentation available at this time. Currently available PRMs can be found in the Intel® Graphics for Linux* - Programmer's Reference Manuals website. When something new is published, it would be found in that website.

@Felipe_Intel Thanks for the reply. Is there any ETA you can share when we can expect the new documentation? The PRM would be very helpful for my research, hence the question.
