Why can't I install Intel® Iris™, Iris™ Pro, and HD Graphics Production Driver for Windows® 7, 8.1, & 10?

I'm trying to install the Intel® Iris™, Iris™ Pro, and HD Graphics Production Driver for Windows® 7, 8.1, & 10 version 15.40.7.4279.

I have an Intel HD Graphics 4600 video card and an Intel Core i5-4570T processor.

I'm running Windows 8.1 Enterprise 64 bit

I meet the minimum requirements for this driver, but when I try to install this driver it tells me that I do not meet the minimum requirements for this driver.

I currently have the 15.36.24.64.4264 version of this same driver so it should let me install the newer version.

Hello all,

In this case the graphics version you currently have(15.36.24.64.4264) is the latest for Windows 8.1. The version 15.40.7.4279 you were trying to download supports Microsoft Windows 10 64-bit, 32-bit on 4th Generation Intel Core Processors.

Luiz, this driver does work for windows 8.1 64 bits. There is something wrong here and Intel needs to find out why their site lists this driver as compatible with windows 8.1 64 bits but we can't install it

Looks like intel has pulled this driver from their website. It doesn't come up in the search results anymore when you search for "Intel hd graphics 4600." I wonder why...

Well Amy I'm going to check when I'm back at that computer and let you know.

In the meantime, can you please check with your people and tell me why this driver that won't install for us says it is for windows 8.1 as well as windows 10?

Actually Amy is not wrong

4th gen such as HD 4600 is only supported for Windows 10.

Well the 15.40.7.4279 driver it's very misleading cause it says it works for windows 8.1 but if you look at the documentation, it's clearly states:

I don't see anywhere the driver advertises it will work for 4th gen graphics under Windows 8.1

Documentation exist for a reason.

They removed it from the search results when you filter windows 8.1 64 bit support but it used to come up with a description saying it supports windows 8.1. In fact if you do not filter the search results you will see that it still will say under the name that it supports windows 8.1.
