I've just downloaded the latest version of the HD520 driver for Win10-64bit. Installing it being blocked by Windows 10 (see screenshot). Why doesn't Intel provide properly signed graphics drivers?

Hello jg_ch:

In order to find out if you are using the proper graphics driver we need to verify a few details:

What is the model of the motherboard?

What is the model of the processor?

If this is a laptop, what is the model of it?

In regard to the error message, in order to install the driver, you just need to choose "more info" and you will be able to do that.

And if you are downloading the drivers from the following link, we can guarantee you that they will not contain virus or anything else that will put your PC at risk.

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/ https://downloadcenter.intel.com/

Any questions, please let me know.

Thanks Alberto!

It's a Lenovo Yoga 900 with a i7-6500U processor.

When I click on 'More Info', the panel says Unknown Publisher:

When I click on 'Run anyway', installation starts but fails in the end:

Why do you allow OEMs like Lenovo blocking official drivers? I don't want to be dependent on an OEM in such a case!

Regards

Hello jg_ch:

Not sure if the driver version 4474 for Intel® HD graphics 520 was the one you tried, just to make sure, let me give you the link for you to try to install it again, this time try to install it manually.

Please, delete the graphics driver that you currently have from device manager, once you get in there look for display adapters and select it, then right click the driver and choose uninstall.

Instructions to install it manually:

Driver 4474:

Also, OEMs like Lenovo use customized drivers created by them, so, when you use one of our drivers it might not work properly, now, you can always look for the latest graphics driver on Lenovo's web site as well, it shows as VGA driver, not sure if that is the actual model of the laptop though:

Please let me know the results of trying the steps above.

Any questions, please let me know.

Same Problem on several different Lenovo ThinkCentre E73 PCs with Intel Pentium G Processors running Windows 7 x64. Can't install latest Intel HD Graphics driver from 2016-07-28. Neither by Windows Update nor by Intel Downloads page.

Older Driver works.

Hello jg_ch:

Thank you very much for providing those details, they are very helpful for us.

In this case, we already tried all the possible troubleshoot steps to install the driver, and if the laptop is not accepting the driver that is because it requires the drivers provided by the OEM or manufacturer, in this case Lenovo.

So, the best thing to do will be to get in contact with Lenovo directly to get the proper drivers for the laptop:

Lenovo's phone number: 1-855-253-6686

Lenovo's support site:

http://support.lenovo.com/cr/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/yoga-series/yoga-900-13isk?beta=false http://support.lenovo.com/cr/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/yoga-series/yoga-900-13isk?beta=false

Any questions, please let me know.

We now have confirmed the same issue on Fujitsu Esprimo P Computers with Core i3 CPUs.

The Problem is not the Driver per se, because all Clients already have the Driver of course. the Problem is that Windows Update ist trying to install the latest Driver over and over again.

This must be an issue on millions of machines worldwide. I suggest you make contact with Microsoft and remove the latest Intel HD Graphics Driver update from Windows Update or provide with a proper fix.

Hello jg_ch:

Thank you very much for providing those details.

In this case what we can do then will be to disable the Windows® 10 automatic updates:

To Turn off Windows Updates in Windows 10:

1 Via Control Panel

2 Administrative Tools,

3 Services

4 Scroll down to Windows Update

5 Select it and where it says start up type: Disable

Any questions please let me know.
