I just updated to Windows 8.1 today.
Processor: i3 3110m 2.4GHz
RAM 8GB
Graphics Intel HD 4000
Why does my card not support the new DirectX 11,2?
dxdiag always shows DX 11. (It wouldnt even show DX 11.1 when i had just Windows 😎
-------
Also when will a driver update be available to optimize Rome Total War 2 and make it playable on lowest settings?
thanks!

Hi hd4000w8,
The graphics controller you have does support the Direct X 11.1 and it is enabled by default. You can check this information at the following link:
http://www.intel.com/support/graphics/sb/CS-033757.htm http://www.intel.com/support/graphics/sb/CS-033757.htm
It is also important to mention that the driver we have for win 8.1 is a generic and beta driver. You can get the latest driver from our side at the following link:

The link you reference explicitly shows that the HD4000 does _not_ support DirectX 11.1. It appears the HD4200 is the oldest chip that supports 11.1. Am I missing something?
