heres the info i was talking about as you can see the links no longer work

Hi everybody!

I had the same resolution problem with i82865G chipset. After few days of resource (reading forums, blogs, lots of comments etc...) found a great article here:

Upon following instructions from the post I DID manage to create a custom driver handling 19120x1080 resolution what I am happy to share you with. R U ready ?

Same problem, and the links no longer work.

Can anyone upload the driver?

Thanks a lot!

Please bear in mind that this product has reached its End of Interactive Support so Intel no longer provides interactive support for this product via telephone, chat or e-mail. I recommend you to review the information available on the following site:

http://www.intel.com/support/graphics/sb/CS-022544.htm Graphics | Display Resolutions FAQ

The graphics controller drivers will support just about any video modes (within reason) that the Monitor's EDID (Extended Display Identification Data) claims to support, as well as modes defined within the Video BIOS Table (VBT), plus a basic set of static modes (mostly for monitors with no EDID): 640x480, 800x600, 1024x768, 1280x1024, and 1600x1200.

We suggest installing the latest monitor drivers and making sure that all the operating system settings for possible video modes are enabled.

Keep in mind that the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) may limit resolutions within the VBIOS, which is an active part of the BIOS. Manufacturers according to their system designs and target markets can do these changes.
