HELLO:

 

I am having an issue of updating the graphics driver on my computer.     I came to you website and followed everything but it never updated.    I have done this two or three times.    I also went to Windows updates and tried it there with no results.     The driver I have is the same as the one you have listed but it was saying  to update.     Haven't had any results.     I have an HP Computer   with Windows 10 Home Premium.     I have done updates on your website before with no issues.     Can you help me  I am lost!!!!      Thank you!

So the Intel support engineers can have more information about your system, Please download and run the Intel System Support Utility (https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25293/Intel-System-Support-Utility-for-Windows- ) for Windows. Select all data categories and then have it generate a report. Next, have the tool Save the report to a text file (don't try to use the Submit capability; it doesn't work). Finally, using the Drag and drop here or browse files to attach dialog below the edit box for the body of your response post, upload and attach this file to the response post.

To gather the SSU information, follow the steps that you will see after using the link provided previously, save the information to the computer's desktop as a notepad file, and then paste it on this thread.

Hello Al:

 

No,  I got discouraged with it.     Don't know alot about this stuff and I have no else to turn to.       I just don't understand why it won't work  I have gotten things before from Intel with no problem.       The link you gave me takes me t o a page for the SSU download what happens when I do that.   Just need clearer info.

No, this is (unfortunately) somewhat normal for IDSA. It doesn't do a very good job of handling older hardware and, in this case, is confusing the driver version information and the package version information.

To get around this, the next time that you run IDSA and it asks you to download the same driver package, tell it to hide this particular update. It will then not prompt you to install this same version any longer.

Sorry there isn't a better solution; it is what it is...

What is IDSA?     I get the notification in the taskbar from Intel on update.   So,   what I did is when I right click on the intel icon in the taskbar I clicked exit and that took it out of the notification area on the taskbar is that OK?    I didn't understand what else to do.     Thank you for your help.  Sherri

iDSA is the Intel Driver & Support Assistant. This is the "from Intel" facility prompting you for updates.

So the IDSA team can look into this, here's what you need to do:

  1. Create a ZIP file containing all of the contents within folders "C:\ProgramData\Intel\DSA\Data" and "C:\ProgramData\Intel\DSA\Logs".
  2. Respond to the post attaching this ZIP file to the response (drag the ZIP file to where it says Drag and drop here or browse files to attach.

In the meantime, from the iDSA screen, select the update and then hide it. This way, it will stop prompting you to update it (again).

I sent you another message before this telling you that I wasn't sure how to do this.    I found out  so I am sending it to your last message here -

First of all,   the computer sent the zipped files to the desktop was that right?     Just wondering if I got it right   Let me know, so I know this in the future and then I drag the folers to here.    Ok just let me know if you got this.    Here goes!    Thanks so much for your help.

 I particularly don't use this kind of tools... If you have a pre-built system or laptop... is better to get the drivers from their website... if you want to install Intel drivers, I think is better to go directly to Intel website, download the driver and manually install using .exe file...

I would agree with previous Scott's comment that the easy step is just to hide the notification (now that you know you indeed has the latest driver...)

I have seen some post here about that tool, it seems it is a recurrent behavior to keep advertising drivers already installed...

I agree. I much prefer to source the driver installation packages myself - but mostly because I am almost always handling a bunch of machines, not just one.

Hello sherri, You are very welcome, I just received an update on this matter.

 

Our Intel® Driver Support Assistant developers reviewed the log files you provided and determined that the driver installer is existing with an error: -2147024881. So, the update is never actually installed. Could you please try to download the graphics driver installer manually from the link below just to confirm if it resolves the application from repeatedly offering that driver update? version 30.0.100.9955. Once you get the chance, please let us know the results:
