Good day
I have just acquired a new Dell Latitude E7440 and the best resolution that I can get on it is 1366 x 768.
I spoke to a technician at Dell and he recommended that I download the 4600 WHQL driver which will enhance my resolution.
Can someone please assist me with my issue?
sylvia_intel I have read on a couple of forums that you are rather clued up with this. Will you please give me your input as well?

Hello Kaltie_Rocks, thanks for joining the Graphics Community.
The latest graphics drivers available for the HD4600 are version 4080.
Please choose the correct version according to the operating system
Intel® Iris™ and HD Graphics Driver for Windows* 7/8/8.1 64-bit https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?DwnldID=24596&lang=eng&ProdId=3720 Intel® Download Center
Intel® Iris™ and HD Graphics Driver for Windows* 7/8/8.1 32-bit https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?DwnldID=24594&lang=eng&ProdId=3720 Intel® Download Center
Please keep in mind that we provided generic drivers; and sometimes these cannot be installed on other systems or the installation of them could overwrite their customizations and possibly change the functionality of the graphics.
If you are still want to install our drivers, you may try forcing the installation by performing manual procedure, however I cannot assure you they are going to work as expected.
See here for instructions: http://support.intel.com/support/graphics/sb/CS-022355.htm Graphics Drivers — Computer manufacturer graphics driver detected
Let me know the results.

Hi Sylvia
Thanks so much for your feedback.
I am trying to do a manual installation of the driver but I get a message saying that the driver is already up to date.
This is the old driver that it refers to.
Could you please advise on a different workaround as the current one doesn't work?
Thanks
Regards

Hi Sylvia
Please ignore my last post.
I the .zip file there is an install readme which has the workaround.
I seems like the driver has installed correctly but my resolution on my display cannot increase and thus the reason for installing the driver.
Could you please advise?
Thanks

Kaltie_Rocks,
Could you please attach the DX Diag report from your system? (Start -> Run -> dxdiag -> Save All Information).
I was checking the specs from your system and it looks like there are 4 different laptops with the same processor, however, some of them support higher resolution.
I would recommend you to check with Dell which is the resolution supported on your system, since it looks like this has been defined by the computer manufacture. http://www.dell.com/us/business/p/latitude-e7440-ultrabook/pd http://www.dell.com/us/business/p/latitude-e7440-ultrabook/pd

@ Kattie
You mention this is a new system. Was this issue present from the time you first started the system?
One thing to emphasize, as Silvia mentioned, is that Dell provides drivers that are highly customized for their systems. I would strongly recommend only using their drivers on your system. If the issue remains with the Dell drivers, I would recommend contacting Dell for warranty support of the system.

Sylvia / Robert
Thanks for the advice.
I have the 1366 x 768 resolution and I want a driver that could overclock the graphics card to give better resolution. Therefore I am looking for the Intel HD 4600 WHQL driver
The system has the latest updated drivers.
How will I be able to at least get a resolution of 1600 x 1024?
Regards Juan
