problems with video drivers (Core i5)

I recently completed a Core i5-650 build to use as a home theater pc. I'm running the latest .2086 release of the graphics driver (although the problems have persisted with every release).

About once a day, Windows Media Center will crash and restart. Event Viewer says the faulting application is ehshell.exe (which is WMC obviously), version 6.1.7600.16385 (which I believe is my processor). Faulting module is igdumd32.dll, version 8.15.10.2086. Sometimes the faulting module will be audiokse.dll, version 6.1.7600.16385.

Also, several times a day, I will lose audio/video for a few seconds. Event Viewer says, "Display driver igfx stopped responding and has successfully recovered."

I've tried a clean install. I've tried every version of the driver. Last night I ran Memtest86+ overnight and got a clean bill of health. I'm just about at the end of my rope here. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Should this be under the processor forum, since it's a Core i5?

What motherboard do you have?

What memory are you using? (provide the part number)

Did you updated your BIOS?

motherboard: Asus P7H55-M PRO

memory: 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL9D-4GBNQ

I did update to the latest BIOS release... so far, the problem still persists.

Try raising the memory voltage a bit. Don't go over 1.6v. I have seen this problem with this memory before.

Really? Even though I successfully passed Memtest86, Memtest86+ and Prime95?

Sorry to bump an old thread... but I just wanted to say thanks!

I ended up swapping my RAM with a set that ran at 1.65v (and was officially supported by my mobo). Been running stable for about a week.

Great. Hopefully it will continue to work stable.

@woody777, can you share which brand/model of RAM you switched to?

I was able to resolve my RAM issues by tweaking the MB settings. See http://gskill.us/forum/showthread.php?p=20369# post20369 for details.
