[win8 Intel HD Graphics 4000. ] can't set resolution in duplicate display mode.

Hi

I met with an issue that:

I connect to my external screen using VGA cable. When switching to duplicated mode, the screen resolution setting is grey and can't be adjusted. The issue happens with HD Graphics 4000 with both driver version 2932 and 2849. And it doesn't happen with Intel HD Graphics 3000 or other none-intel graphic card platforms.

OS is win8 64bit. Does anyone met with such kind of issue also?

I would like to gather more information about the configuration you have in the computer. I would like to know the model number of the monitors you are using and the model number of the computer.

And more information for you:

1. If I set to extended mode, the resolution can be set both on two screens.

2. If I didn't connect to the TV, and switch to duplicate mode, the resolution setting is also not available. But with Intel HD Graphics 3000 or other none-intel graphic card platforms, I can set that in duplicate mode.

It's been 2 years since this thread was updated.. Intel never answered, and I'm having the same problem.. Dell laptop, trying to use my AOC 27" monitor on the 15 pin VGA, and I can't use any resolution other than that which the internal monitor is set to..

Any ideas/help?

I would need more information in regards to your system configuration:

Which version of Windows do you have?

Also, the exact processor model and the graphics controller:

Click the Windows icon, and then right-click Computer .

Select Properties .

Find System Type on the Properties window, and then note the processor model.

Additionally, please provide graphics driver versions.

Does this problem occur with computer manufacturer drivers?
