ARC B580 | Kingdom Come: Deliverance performance halved after 10h and game now flashes artfacts

I started playing Kingdom Come: Deliverance 1 about 10 hours ago and the performace on high settings was good. (~55fps indoors,  90-120 fps outdoors) There where sometimes random dips where the performace tanks for like a 0.2-1 seconds. But now the game runs suddenly really bad (20-35fps outdoors max) there where no changes made. And the game flashes now horizontal artfacts. Even while the game is loading or in a new savegame.

I tested other Games but only this game has such issues now.

I clean installed the driver again, and verified the games files.

What can I do to report this to intel? Is this the right place?

Hello Mat_,

Thank you for posting in Intel Communities.

I would like to know more about your system details to fully understand where the issue truly lies. Please share the missing information below for proper issue isolation:

1) I understand that you already performed clean installation of the latest driver. Can you confirm the driver version currently installed is version 32.0.101.6647 (WHQL Certified)?

  • clean driver installation using DDU in safe mode is recommended. If you have not tried this yet, please follow this link for instructions.

2) Where can I obtain this game from? (Steam, Epic, etc.)

3) Provide us with the Intel SSU report from your system, so I can further check any possible root cause of the issue.

  • If you do not wish to submit the SSU report then at least provide us with the following information about your system:
    • Processor make and model.
    • Motherboard make and model and BIOS version.
    • Amount of memory (RAM).
    • Operating System version/build number.
  • Power Supply make and model.

I will wait for your reply to proceed in further checking.

Best regards,

JeanetteC.

Hi Jeanette,

I have attached all logs that you have requested and some more

I have done now the clean installation (with DDU before the installation) of the GPU driver twice... still the same result

I have a weird system (Minisforum UH125 Pro), the GPU is connected via a OCulink Dock. (electrically only PCIe 4.0 x4, see gpu-z pic) It works fine I never noticed issues with my b580 even if intel lists PCIe x8 as minium in the requirements. But I truly believe this is not part of the issue since the issue I encountered was not present initially when I started playing this game and other graphically intensive games, do not show such behavior.games, do not show such behavior.

I am not exactly sure what PSU I have, I can not find the bill for it. It should be a 650W or 850W semi-modular Power Supply that I bought in 2013. I can check on Thursday if I can find a label on the under side of the PSU. (the PSU only Powers the GPU)

Maybe this helps, I will test later this week (if I can find the time) if the issues are present under Linux for this game.

Best regards,

Hi Jeanette,

I have some new information for you that I got from my tests.

Game settings:

  • tested on both operating systems with the Game set to the high preset with a resolution of 2560x1440 with V-sync, T-AA and motion blur turned off.

So I am first explain what I did in order:

  1. Made a new save game that I can load and get comparable game states to test.
  2. Downloaded kcd on the Linux partition via steam and build the lasted mesa version from the git.
  3. Loaded the save game in on Linux (did not overwrite it) and tested the performance.
  4. Tested the save game on Windows.

What I noticed:

  1. On Linux, the game ran perfectly fine without any issues (no artifacting) and good performance. The frame delivery felt really smooth. (see Linux_kdc1.png) & (see Linux_kdc1_with_term_.png)

  2. After testing on Windows, I wanted to get data from the same spot in game. I was shocked to see somehow The performance of the game returned to it original performance (artifacting was still present, but less frequent). Windows has a bit better performance than on Linux. (5-7 fps more) (Linux see Win11_kdc1_after_linux_test.png)

This makes no sense to me. What fixed the performance? The Windows partition and the Linux partition are independent. It is still the same save game from before the test on Linux. On the Windows side nothing was changed, it should still be in the exact state as before.

I am not sure if this somehow helps. It has given me just more questions...

Best regards,
