I’m using an Intel B580 for gaming and daily tasks, and I’ve been facing a strange issue with two specific games: Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 and Metro Exodus.
The problem:
My PC crashes and restarts at certain points in the game—sometimes during cutscenes, sometimes in specific locations. Temperatures are fine, drivers are up to date, and there are no other system-wide issues.
What I’ve tried so far:
✔ Benchmarks & stress tests – No crashes, everything runs fine.
✔ Playing the game again after a crash – Sometimes it runs smoothly with no issues.
✔ Testing after a few days – The crash happens again, but in different spots than before.
I can’t seem to replicate the problem reliably, and that’s what’s frustrating me the most.
Any help would be appreciated!
PS; my specs are:
Asus prime b650m-k
Ryzen 5 7600
Team vulcan 2*16 32 Gb
Kingston 1tb ssd nv3
High power 750w psu

Hello Ali30,
Thank you for posting in Intel Communities.
To further isolate the issue and be able to provide an effective recommendation, please provide the missing key information here:
1) Since you mentioned that the issue only happens on 2 specific games (Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 and Metro Exodus); has these games previously worked before the crashing issues or is it an out-of-the-box problem?
2) If previously worked, what changes has been made before the issue started?
3) Please share the current driver version installed, as well as the previous driver versions you've tried.
4) Provide screenshots or describe the graphics settings used in-game.
- Per example: Ultra quality preset, video resolution, ray-tracing on, etc. etc.
5) Submit CapFrameX capture data (.json files) reproducing the issue.
- Capture data at least 3 times to define a good performance baseline.
CapFrameX Installation instructions:
- Go to https://www.capframex.com/download and download the latest version of CapframeX.
- Go to https://www.guru3d.com/files-details/rtss-rivatuner-statistics-server-download.html and download the latest version of RTSS.
- Unzip both installers and install them.
- Launch CapFrameX and then close it. This is so it creates the user Configuration folder.
- Download and unzip the file OverlayEntryConfiguration_0.json (attached in this post) with the recommended RTSS configuration.
- Paste this file to %userprofile%\Documents\CapFrameX\Configuration.
- In the Capture tab, set the "Capture time" to 0. This is to remove the preset limit in capture time.
- In the Overlay tab, uncheck "Auto-Disable OSD" and click the save icon.
Capturing the Performance Data:
- Open CapframeX and do NOT minimize or close it.
- Open the game and go to the part of the game you need to be to reproduce the issue. You should see the RTSS overlay in the top left corner of your screen, with the status "<game name> ready to capture…".
- Press F11 to start capturing data and reproduce the issue. The Status in the overlay will change to "Recording frametimes XX s".
- Once you have reproduced the issue, press F11 to finish the data capturing. The Status in the overlay will change to "Processing data".
- Back to CapFrameX, you can find all the data captures in the left panel of the Analysis tab. Clicking any one of these captures will display the results on the right.
- To export the data captured as a JSON file, right click the capture and click on "Copy/paste recording file(s)".
I will wait for your reply.
Best regards,
JeanetteC.

1. It’s an out-of-the-box issue. After a few crashes, the games sometimes run smoothly for a few sessions, but then the crashes return unpredictably.
2. I’ve tried multiple solutions, including:
Using DDU to completely remove and reinstall GPU drivers.
Formatting the PC and doing a fresh Windows installation.
Upgrading from Windows 10 to Windows 11.
Despite these attempts, the issue persists.
3. Current driver version: 32.0.101.6647
I’ve also tested Version 32.0.101.6632 and Version 32.0.101.6559, but the issue remained.
4. Graphics settings:
The crashes happen regardless of settings, from Low to Ultra presets.
Resolution: 1440p
Ray-Tracing: Off
5. CapFrameX Data:
I attempted to reproduce the issue, but since my PC fully shuts down and restarts, it does not capture the exact crash moment.
However, I hope the data still contains useful performance insights.
Thank you.
(The tested game was Space Marine 2.)

Hello Ali30,
I understand that you're unable to replicate the issue and obtain the CapFrameX data as recommended. I'll make a note of this and investigate it internally for the time being. However, if you manage to gather this information, please share the file in this thread. I'll provide an update as soon as it's available.
Best regards,
JeanetteC.

Hello Ali30,
Can you please proceed with clean installation of the latest Intel® Graphics Driver 32.0.101.6651 for Intel® Arc™ B-Series Graphics using Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) first and let me know if this makes any difference.
I will wait for your reply.

Hello Ali30,
As we haven't heard back from you, it seems the game is functioning properly. If the issue arises again, please generate a kernel or complete crash dump so I can investigate further.
For assistance on obtaining the crash dump, please reach out to Microsoft Support.
I will now close this thread. If you need help in the future, please submit a new question, as this thread will no longer be monitored.
Sincerely,
JeanetteC.
