ARC B580 issues on installation.

Just installed a B580 in my Gigabyte Z890 with Ultra 7 -265K CPU.  W11 24H2. Removed the Nvidia drivers and set BIOS (F17f) with resizable bar and the other options as suggested where possible and then installed Arc SW using DSA.  I'm connected to the primary DSP to a LG 32UN650 monitor capable of 3840x2160 @60Hz.

As far as I can tell there is nothing much happening via the Graphics SW.

There is no confirmation of resizable Bar.

I have no adjustment options.

I'm stuck with a 1920 x1080 display, so something is wrong.

My power supply is 6 +2 and of course this card is reversed in the orientation from the Nvidia card. Is there any specific order for the pins? i.e. 6 block to the left and 2 block to the right (how I did it) or 2 to the left and 6 to the right - the only other option.

Suggestions please.

Hi Dean,

OK I will make a clean installation of the driver you suggest.  I should remind you that I used DSA and it tells me I have the latest version.  Does DSA not install the latest

The message about std / basic graphics driver seems strange. See previous pics.

I'm using the DSP cable provided by LG, not sure what version it is. The same monitor and cable worked fine at higher resolution with my old Asus Dual RTX2060-06G-EVO but I have ordered a new ver. 1.4 cable - don't know if the Monitor can use anything above 1.2.

I will come back to your comments on EDID when the new driver is installed.

The problem came up immediately I installed the B580 card, all was working fine with my RTX2060, cable and monitor.

The monitor works fine with HDMI on other PC's - IMHO it's the graphics SW that is the issue.

I have not tried HDMI with the B580, since I want to use DSP.

I'm good with direct support once I check out the new driver.

Here is some more LG information.

Hi britgeezer,

Thank you for reaching out and providing detailed information about your current setup with the B580 graphics card. I understand how frustrating it can be when your display settings aren't functioning as expected, and I'm here to help you resolve this issue.

It appears that the graphics driver currently installed on your system, version 32.0.101.6129, is outdated. To ensure optimal performance and access to the latest features, I recommend performing a clean installation of the latest driver, version 32.0.101.6972. You can download it from the following link: Intel Arc & Iris Xe Graphics Windows Driver.

Additionally, could you please clarify the type of cables you are using to connect your monitor? Are you using HDMI or DisplayPort (DP), and what version are they? This information will help us determine if there might be any compatibility issues affecting your display resolution.

To further assist in diagnosing the issue, please provide the Extended Display Identification Data (EDID) from your monitor using the Intel Graphics Command Center. You can download the Intel Graphics Command Center from the Microsoft Store. Here are the instructions to obtain the EDID:

  1. Open Intel Graphics Command Center
  2. Navigate to Display Settings. Once the application is open, click on the 'Display' tab.
  3. Select Your Monitor, if you have multiple displays, ensure you select the monitor experiencing the issue.
  4. Look for an option to view or export the EDID information. This may be under advanced settings or similar.
  5. Export and Share, Save the EDID information to a file and attach it in your response to this thread or email if you prefer.

Could you also let me know when this issue started? Was the system working correctly before, or has this been a persistent problem since installation? If possible, please try connecting the monitor to another working system to see if the issue persists. This can help identify whether the problem is with the monitor or the graphics card setup.

If you prefer a faster communication method, please let me know if a phone call would be more convenient for you. I am available to discuss this issue at your earliest convenience and can also do remote assistance.

Best regards,

Hi Dean,

Good news.

Clean installation of the driver version you linked me to has resolved the issue.

I'm now able to run at the max resolution allowed by my monitor, and my graphics drivers reports as it should after a firmware update None of this happened previously.

You may want to look at why DSA didn't install the correct version driver.

Your web site wants me to update NPU but will not accept my download requests - I'll reboot and try again.

Thanks

John

Hi britgeezer,

I'm glad to hear that you are now able to run at the maximum resolution after the clean installation of driver. Since you're also experiencing an issue with IDSA, I highly recommend that you create a separate thread for us to assist you effectively and to avoid any confusion.

You may keep us informed once you have created a new thread so we can address it promptly.
