If you'd like to provide memdumps for game/application glitches that don't trigger app crashes/bugchecks (blue screens), please continue as follows:

  1. Using RegEdit, add the values mentioned in this MSDN article (or use the attached crashonctrlscroll file, inspect it and if you'd like to apply remove the .txt extension before downloading it, then double-click and if asked to merge/add to registry, select (Yes).)
  2. Make sure you've activated "Active Memory Dump", see screenshots 2-1 to 2-5 attached
  3. Reboot your system
  4. Close any applications not necessary to run the game/application - especially any open browser windows, E-Mail applications or anything containing private information or passwords!
  5. Run the game/application with settings of your choice and start the benchmark/use it until it hangs
  6. Once you encounter glitches/artifacts - depending on your keyboard:
    1. Press and hold Right Ctrl, double-tap Scroll Lock (between PrintScrn and PageUp) or
    2. Press and hold Right Ctrl and Fn (Function key), double-tap Scroll Lock (between Insert and PageUp, toggle for Home)
    3. If none of the aforementioned layouts match, try finding out which key (combination) might be Scroll Lock by observing the LEDs on your keyboard - if it's got status LEDs, the rightmost should indicate that Scroll Lock was engaged. Refer to the manual if necessary.
  7. Your system will crash - let it finish generating the dump file then restart manually if necessary
  8. Once restarted, go to C:\Windows and cut the MEMORY.DMP file; paste it to a OneDrive folder or similar
  9. If asked about failed OC settings, restore them if you're sure they weren't causing the crash
  10. Post the memdump link here

Please note that these memdump files will likely approach 10 to 40 GB in size, depending on your system configuration, the game/app you're trying to use and running background applications as well as operating system.

I appreciate your step-by-step troubleshooting on how to get the Active Memory Dump on graphic glitches/artifacts.

This will greatly help others on how to get the memory dump files.
