Arc B580 Freesync

Hi, I’ve encountered an issue with my setup:
• GPU: Intel Arc B580
• Monitor: MSI G27C4 (165Hz FreeSync monitor, model 9S6-3CA91T-021)
• Connection: DisplayPort
• OS: Windows 11 (latest updates installed)

Problem:
• At 165Hz or 144Hz, if I turn FreeSync off on the monitor, I get a black screen when starting games.
• At 120Hz (119.98Hz) the system works fine without FreeSync enabled.
• With FreeSync enabled, everything works normally at 144Hz and 165Hz.

This looks like a driver/EDID or refresh rate handshake bug, since the monitor works fine at lower refresh rates without FreeSync.

Steps I’ve already tried:
• Installed the MSI monitor INF driver
• Updated to the latest Intel Arc graphics driver
• Tested different DisplayPort cables

Expected behavior:
• The monitor should work at 144Hz and 165Hz even without FreeSync enabled.

Can you confirm if this is a known issue, and if it’s being addressed in upcoming Arc driver updates?

Found out something more.

• At 144Hz or 165Hz, if VRR is enabled in Intel Graphics Command Center and/or FreeSync is enabled on the monitor, I get a black screen when launching games.
• At 120Hz (119.98Hz) everything works fine, with or without VRR/FreeSync enabled.
• If I disable both VRR (Intel Graphics Command Center) and FreeSync (monitor OSD) and set the monitor to 165Hz fixed refresh, the system works fine with no black screen.

Since I can't delete this post I have to answer myself.

After messing around for a while I found the solution. Not what I have mention earlier.

If I put the monitor til 119.98HZ I dont need to use freesync and VRR in intel graphics software

If I want the monitor over that frequency I need to enable freesync and VRR.

If im not doing that, I will get black screen and tearing when I lauch my games.

Im also using GPU scaling, not monitor scaling. But should I enable Smart Vsync in graphics settings aswell or just let it stay at program selection since I use freesync on my monitor and VRR in intel graphics software
