DXGI_DRIVER_INTERNAL_ERROR

1. I am using ASRock Arc A770 16 GB Phantom Gaming OC GPU with the latest drivers downloaded on a new PC so there were no previous drivers before.

2. Gothic 2 Steam version with DX11 renderer installed properly. Yes, I do sometimes play older games on occasion.

4. So the renderer settings opens in-game on F11 key. It happens from time to time to replicate this problem. This also goes to when saving/loading saves. You never know when this happen but it does.

Hello he1ntz_ua,

Thank you for posting back in the Intel Communities. We would be more than happy to help you with your problem when playing Gothic 2.

To better assist you, we would like to ask for the following information:

  • Could you please provide us with more detailed information about the problem you are experiencing? Does the game crash? Is there graphics corruption in the game?
  • If it is possible, provide us with a video showing the issue and the step-by-step to reproduce the problem. This would help us have a better understanding of your issue and will be beneficial if we need to reproduce the issue.
  • Is this issue present since you played the game for the first time? If not, was there a system update before the issue started?

Best regards

1. DXGI_DRIVER_INTERNAL_ERROR occurs as a crash/access violation.

2. So as I said before, I wanted to open DX11 renderer settings by pressing F11 and then this happens. Sometimes there are other errors.

3. From the beginning.

Hello he1ntz_ua,

After checking your system report, we noticed that your Operating System build version is 22621, while the latest version is 22631. We recommend you update your Operating System to have the latest patches and fixes included with the latest Build.

We understand that you mentioned that this is a new PC and there are no other drivers, but we would like to recommend you perform a clean driver installation and re-install the latest driver, 31.0.101.4972. Sometimes, corrupted files from the previous or even the most recent driver installed can affect the well-functioning of the graphics card.

I've installed the latest available OS build and so reinstalled the latest driver using DDU in safe mode.

The problem still persists.

Hello he1ntz_ua,

Thank you for testing our recommendation. Since the issue remains after updating the OS and reinstalling the latest driver using the DDU in safe mode, we will proceed to research this issue internally. Allow us some time to look into this, and we will post back as soon as we have more details.

Hello he1ntz_ua

Thanks for your patience. After looking into this matter, we noticed that the game officially uses the DX7 API. This means that you may be using a game mode to run the game using DX11. The best course of action is to report this to the mod developer for further support. If the developer confirms that there is an issue with the Driver, they can report the issue in our Developing Games on Intel Graphics forums.

Hello he1ntz_ua,

We will proceed to close this thread since we have not heard back from you. Note that as the game does not use DX7 officially, we recommend you report this to the mod developer for further support. If you need additional information, submit a new question, as this thread will no longer be monitored.

Best regards
