Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth won't start after latest Intel Arc B580 drivers.

I've since reverted back to the previous drivers and the game starts normally and and runs well. Just want to know if anyone else is having the same issue. It's just annoying that I can't update my drivers just for one game.

The latest driver is 32.0.101.6647 (WHQL Certified) and will not work.

The drivers I'm currently using are 32.0.101.6559 (WHQL Certified) and it works.

I know someone is gonna ask regardless if I've already started that the game runs fine with the previous drivers I have a Ryzen 5 5600g CPU. The issue only arises when I update the drivers. My game is also updated to latest version and windows is also updated to the latest version.

Hello liongriver,

Thank you for bringing this issue to the community's attention.

I have a few questions regarding the graphics driver version. When you attempt to launch FF7 Rebirth with version 6647, does it fail to open? Conversely, is the game playable with version 6559? Have you tried using the 6632 driver version?

Additionally, could you please provide a screenshot of the full game settings when using the working graphics driver? Lastly, I would like to know the source from which you downloaded the game.

On version 6647 it will not open, I do see a background process in the task manager, but the game will not appear on screen. The game opens fine with version 6559. I have not used version 6632 because I've only been using the WHQL Certified drivers. I bought and downloaded the game from Steam. Thank you for responding.

Hello liongriver,

We have released a new graphics driver. Please download and install Intel® Graphics Driver 32.0.101.6651, and test if this resolves your issue. If the problem persists after updating the driver, kindly let me know so I can investigate further.

Hello John.

So I went ahead and updated to 6651 and unfortunately those drivers failed when launching the Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. I noticed that it did have 2 processes running in the background in my task manager, but the game would never appear on screen and no audio of the game could be heard either. Some things I did while I had the drivers installed was go into my windows settings and select for the program to use the Arc B580 as the dedicated GPU in the advanced graphics settings. I ran Steam in administrator mode. I also reinstalled the program and nothing seems to work. I then reinstalled 6559 and the game launched without a problem. Unfortunately the problem persists with the latest drivers. Thank you for investigating this. I'm also attaching the screenshots of the background process.

Hello liongriver,

Thank you for the update and for letting me know that the driver update did not resolve the issue. Please allow me some time to investigate this internally. Once I have more information, I’ll get back to you.

Since you mentioned that the games are launching using driver version 6559, please provide a screenshot of the settings for replication purposes.

Looking forward to your response.

Dear liongriver,

We attempted to replicate the issue using the latest driver 32.0.101.6651 on an Arc B580, and the game launched successfully. The issue you are experiencing may be related to the game's shader cache.

To troubleshoot, please follow these steps:

  1. Use DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) to completely remove the current driver.
  2. Install driver 32.0.101.6651.
  3. Reinstall the game.
  4. After reinstalling, delete the shader cache.

Shader Cache Location:

  • "C:\Users\[Username]\Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY VII REBIRTH\Saved"
  • "C:\Users\[Username]\LocalLow\Intel\ShaderCache"

Please try these steps and let us know if the issue persists.
