For the third time coming here to say performance problems when playing streaming on discord

Good evening, I'm coming here again. I'm having performance issues when streaming while playing. I'll send the files as xcapframe and SSU.

Hardware acceleration disabled in Discord
Enabled efficient video decoding and Cisco System codec.

The game I tested and made the xcapframe for was RE8, but it happens with all my games, even Nikke, which is the lightest on my PC.

Hi AsterCrash

Thank you for contacting Intel support again regarding the performance issues you're experiencing when streaming on Discord while gaming. I understand how frustrating this recurring issue must be, and I'm committed to helping you resolve it this time.

I can see that you've already taken some troubleshooting steps by disabling hardware acceleration in Discord and enabling efficient video decoding with Cisco System codec. You mentioned that this issue affects all your games, from RE8 to lighter games like Nikke.

To better assist you and provide the most effective solution, I need to gather some additional system information:

Could you please provide an Intel SSU (System Support Utility) report? You can download it from: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000005567/processors.html

If you're not comfortable sharing the SSU report, please provide the following details:

  • CPU model and specifications
  • GPU model (Intel Arc, integrated graphics, or discrete GPU)
  • RAM amount and configuration
  • System model (if laptop) or motherboard model (if desktop)
  • Current graphics driver version

Troubleshooting History:

  1. Was this working properly before? If so, when did you first notice the streaming performance issues starting?
  2. Have you tried the latest Intel graphics driver? If so, please specify which version you tested. If not, I recommend updating to the latest version 32.0.101.7028 from: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/download/785597/intel-arc-iris-xe-graphics-windows.html
  3. What specific performance symptoms are you experiencing? (frame drops, stuttering, encoding issues, etc.)

Given that this is your third time reporting this issue, I'd like to schedule a phone call for faster resolution.

Best regards,

Hi AsterCrash

Thank you for your continued patience and for providing the additional information regarding your streaming performance issues on Discord while gaming.

I understand that you've been experiencing this issue since installation, are using the latest driver version, and are encountering frame drops and stuttering during streaming. I also acknowledge that this affects all your games, from RE8 to lighter titles like Nikke, which indicates a systemic issue rather than game-specific problems.

Given that this is your third report of this issue and the persistent nature of the problem despite your troubleshooting efforts (disabling hardware acceleration in Discord, enabling efficient video decoding and Cisco System codec), I will be checking this internally to provide you with the most accurate solution. I will get back to you with detailed findings and recommendations once I have the necessary information from my internal review.

Hi AsterCrash,

Before I proceed with my internal investigation, I'd like to try one more troubleshooting step that may resolve this persistent issue. Since you're experiencing system-wide streaming performance problems, I recommend performing a clean driver installation using DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller)

Have you tried using DDU to completely remove and reinstall your Intel graphics driver?

If not, please follow Intel's official DDU instructions:

Intel DDU Clean Installation Guide: Official Intel DDU Steps: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000091878/graphics.html

Quick Overview:

  1. Download DDU: https://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html
  2. Boot into Safe Mode: Restart your computer and boot into Safe Mode
  3. Run DDU: Use DDU to completely remove all Intel graphics drivers
  4. Restart normally: Boot back into Windows normally
  5. Install latest driver: Download and install driver version 32.0.101.7028 from: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/download/785597/intel-arc-iris-xe-graphics-windows.html
  6. Test streaming: Try Discord streaming after the clean installation

Sometimes driver remnants or conflicting configurations can cause streaming performance issues that persist even after standard driver updates. A clean installation removes all traces of previous drivers and ensures optimal configuration.

Hi AsterCrash,

Intel has just released a new graphics driver that may resolve the issue you've been experiencing.

Intel® Arc™ & Iris® Xe Graphics - Windows* Version: 32.0.101.7029 Download Link: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/download/785597/intel-arc-iris-xe-graphics-windows.html

Please follow these steps:

  1. Test your graphics functionality to see if the issue is resolved

This latest driver includes important updates and improvements that may address the problem you encountered. Many customers have found that updating to the newest driver version resolves similar issues.

After installing the new driver, please let us know:

  • Whether the issue has been resolved
  • If you continue to experience any problems

Hi, the new driver didn't improve, but I disabled the GPU scheduling by hardware and it improved a lot. It's not 100%, but I feel like it can be improved a little. The games aren't crashing when using the insane GPU, but I feel a certain instability when I put it to stream. I even did a clean installation of Discord because I thought of files that pointed to my old RTX 3060, but it didn't work. So far, the improvement came from disabling GPU scheduling via hardware, but I feel like it can be improved because when I record using the Windows Game Bar, it is inaccessible in terms of performance, showing that the Intel Arc B580 has a lot of power, but the problem is between Discord and Intel, as far as I tested.

Hi AsterCrash,

Thank you for testing the latest driver version 32.0.101.7029 and for providing the detailed update on your Discord streaming performance issues.

I'm pleased to hear that disabling hardware GPU scheduling has provided significant improvement to your streaming performance, even though it's not completely resolved yet. Your observation that Windows Game Bar recording works flawlessly while Discord streaming still shows instability is very valuable information - this strongly suggests there's a specific compatibility issue between Discord and Intel Arc B580 rather than a general graphics performance problem.

The fact that you performed a clean Discord installation to eliminate any RTX 3060 configuration remnants shows excellent troubleshooting methodology. Your testing clearly demonstrates that your Intel Arc B580 has the necessary power and capability, but there's an interaction issue specifically with Discord's streaming implementation.

Current Status Summary:

  • Latest driver 32.0.101.7029 tested - issue persists
  • Hardware GPU scheduling disabled - significant improvement achieved
  • Windows Game Bar recording - works perfectly (confirms GPU capability)
  • Discord streaming - still shows some instability
  • Clean Discord installation performed - no improvement

Given the specific nature of this Discord-Intel Arc compatibility issue and your comprehensive testing results, I will be investigating this matter further internally. The evidence you've provided clearly points to a software interaction problem between Discord's streaming engine and Intel Arc graphics that requires specialized analysis.

I will get back to you with an update once I have more information available from this internal investigation.

Thank you for your exceptional patience and thorough testing throughout this process.
