Graphics Software failed to install for new Arc B580

I've just received and installed a new Arc B580 card by ONIX (https://www.newegg.com/onix-odyssey-8346-00178-intel-arc-b580-12gb-gddr6/p/N82E16814987002?Item=N82E16814987002). The graphics drivers installed successfully but the Intel Graphics Software failed to install (https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/products/docs/discrete-gpus/arc/software/graphics-software.html). I tried re-running the software installation package and it re-installed the graphics drivers without offering the option to install any additional software. I cannot find an installer for just the software suite alone -- does this exist? Is the issue that the ONIX version of the card is not yet supported by the Intel Graphics software?

Hello nantronic,

If you are experiencing issues with the installation of Intel® Graphics Software, it may not be installed even though the driver installation completes without errors. To resolve this, you should perform a Graphics Driver Clean Installation. Here are the steps to follow:

  1. Download and install the latest Intel® Graphics driver. You can find the specific driver needed for your integrated or discrete Intel graphics by referring to the List of Drivers for Intel® Graphics.
  2. Execute a Clean Installation during the driver installation. Detailed steps can be found in the article Clean Installation of Intel® Graphics Drivers in Windows*.

For additional steps you may also try to follow this step in this article: Intel® Graphics Software Isn’t Being Installed with Driver

I wanted to inform you that the Intel graphics software is included with the driver that you can download from our official website.

Please visit the Intel Download Center at Intel® Arc™ & Iris® Xe Graphics - Windows*and search for the appropriate driver for your graphics model and operating system. Once you download and install the driver, the Intel graphics software will be included.

Thank you for your reply!

What I did to solve the issue is this:

I used Display Driver Uninstaller ("DDU") in Windows' Safemode to uninstall whatever Nvidia remains there were (I suppose manually uninstalling everything was insufficient) as well as the Intel drivers that I had installed. After ensuring to run the process for both Nvidia and Intel software, I then rebooted into Normal mode and reinstalled the drivers and software from the installer in the link you provided. Now the Intel Graphics Software is installed and running correctly. I should also mention that this method solved some odd flickering I was seeing in some games from time to time.

Thank you again!
