Intel Arc A750 low performance with ryzen 5 5600G

Hi, I bought the intel arc a750 gpu quite a few months ago. From my first start-up, until now, I'm not getting even close to the exact performance as i should be getting according to my system. Let me elaborate a bit.

Here's my system:-

  • Ryzen 5 5600G
  • msi mag b550-m mortar max wifi
  • 2x8GB of 3200mhz ram
  • os: windows 11 23h2
  • antec csk 650w power supply

Now, I have the RE-BAR and xmp on. I saw a benchmark on youtube where the creator had the exact same primary specs as me; yet he was getting much better performance. Here's the link < https://youtu.be/PkaSZwcia_s?si=Z4w-NEGJ3_7PkF2c > In my case, i was getting around 45fps in gta v, quite lower than the one in this yt video. I've tried it with other games as well, and the result was the same, very low performance than expected. I've been having this problem since quite sometime now, a few driver updates came and i updated my driver version each time up until now, but it still didn't work. now, i have the latest driver as of now (version 101.5234).

To improve the performance of your graphics card, please follow the troubleshooting procedures provided at the link below. In addition, I checked that the most recent driver for the Arc A750 is already 31.0.101.5333.

Hello.

 

I apologize for replying late. I've followed and confirmed each step you've provided. However, the issue still persists without any notable improvements. My current motherboard bios is upto date 'till now and the current graphics driver version is 5333 as you've mentioned. I'd be glad to know if I could do anything else to really get rid of this issue. Thank you!

Hello,

 

As I've said earlier, I performed each necessary step including updating the driver and bios, turning on xmp (to 3200mhz) and re-bar. Yet, the problem still persists, still getting low performance. Apart from that, I don't have any additional queries right now. Thank you.

  1. When you say you are getting 45 fps, is this consistent across gameplay or just specific areas of the game (e.g., a crowded area, etc.)?
  2. Please provide screenshots or describe the graphics settings you are using in the game. (e.g., resolution; vsync setting; is MSAA enabled, etc.)

I have actually uninstalled GTAV since I can't seem to enjoy it pretty much.

Now, I've got the witcher 3. I'm sending in some screenshots of during the gameplay. I've looked up some benchmarks of another system with almost the same specs and it was getting 65+ fps on ultra+. And here, I was getting around 55-60 while standing still and 37-50 while going to places (i.e. while riding the horse). Sorry, Couldn't check if the amount of crowd or grass affected my fps.

Also sending a couple of screenshots of an elden ring gameplay. In this case, the fps was around 35-50ish, still way below the benchmark I saw.

We have noticed in one of your settings in the screenshots that you shared that you have maxed out Nvidia Hairworks, which can introduce a significant performance drop.



In regards to that, please see the article related to this, but for a different game, the effects will be the same. "Enabling TressFX* or HairWorks* Functionality Affects the Performance of Tomb Raider (2013)".


It is suggested that you turn it off and check the performance again.

 

By the way, we have our new released driver, which is 101.5379; please try it and check if the performance will enhance. 

 

Furthermore, may we know what distribution platform are you using with Witcher 3? (e.g., Steam, GOG, Epic, etc.) and also what DX version are you playing Witcher 3? Have you tried both DX 11 and DX 12?

Hello.

 

I've updated my driver to 101.5379. After the update, my other games (i.e. valorant, horizon zero dawn) have reduced performances. In case of valorant, it's now a bit stuttery and in case of hzd, it just crashes after i go beyond an area i guess. On the previous driver version and in this one as well, if I look at devi's grief in hzd, the fps drops to 30-40 and if i look away, it goes up to 60ish.

 

After you've said so, I've tried dx12 in the witcher 3 just a while ago and it was worse than dx11. It was really stuttery and also crashed after a minute or two. Also tried turning off hairworks but didn't see much difference. And I've got witcher 3 from fitgirl repacks. 

 

Should i revert back to driver version 5333? please let me know since this version is more stuttery than the one before.

In the meantime, you may revert back to 5333 or try our new release driver again, which is 31.0.101.5382

Please follow the provided troubleshooting steps below for a possible solution to our issue: 


  • Carry out a clean installation of the latest graphics driver using DDU to remove any previous drivers completely.
  • Regarding the game crashing, it would be helpful to ask if the customer receives any error messages upon crashing. If possible, a screen recording or screenshot of the issue would greatly assist us in replicating and diagnosing the problem. Additionally, inform the customer that our tests with Valorant using driver version 31.0.101.5379 did not result in any stuttering issues.
  • Enable the optimizations for windowed games. For reference, you can check out this Optimizations for Windowed Games in Windows 11 article from Microsoft. 


Furthermore, we also wanted to share with you the following articles, as they are relevant and offer further recommendations for optimizing performance in other games.

I have the same Motherboard and also issues with a A380.
