Intel Arc A770 16GB - ArcControl did not work

Hello together.

First sorry for my bad english.

Got my Arc A770 and I could implement it in my board (Asus Rog Strix z-690F) with i7-12700K, 32 GB Ram and Windows 11 Pro. Used the GPU driver 101.4255, this should be the latest.

But the software Arc Control will not work. I installed the latest driver many times, also with a clean install. But after launch the software, no input with keyboard or mouse is possible.

I could detect in the windows event viewer a interesting message, and it seems for me that the the

QCS.DLL is defekt or incomplete (please find a hardcopy about this as attachment).

Has anyone an idea how to fix this dll or where can I download this dll file. Possible this could solve my problem!?

Much thank`s and kind regards.

My problem was different than your while installing Arc Control but you should try it. Disable Windows UAC in account settings before installing Arc control. See if it fixes the problem.

Thank you, for your assistance Voork.

Sadly it does not solved my problem.

What I've done:

- Deinstall Intel Arc Control software in the windows settings

- Deactivate UAC in the settings (in windows search "UAC" and then the slider down)

- Reboot

- Clean install driver, additional with Arc Control (previos with 101.4255 and actual with 101.4257 beta)

- Reboot

Result:

- Same error in event viewer regarding ArcControlAssist.exe and QCS.dll as shown in my screeshot before

- I am able to start the Arc Control, can move the window with the mouse, but no inputs are possible

Bye!

Hello donauwald,

Thanks for posting to the Intel Communities. We would be more than glad to help you with your issue with the Arc Control software.

Since you have already tried Reinstalling the Arc control when performing a clean driver installation, we would like to recommend you run the DDU software How to Use the Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) to Uninstall an Intel® Graphics Driver and reinstall Intel® Arc™ Control by installing our latest BETA driver.

Hello Jean_Intel.

I am very happy about your assistance. Thank you very much.

I did now all things as you discribed above. Already tried the DDU once before, but change there the options and ticked on only the intel things. Now I execute this again with the standard options in windows save mode. After reboot I made a clean install with the latest beta driver 101.4257 and a reboot again.

Result:

- After Windows login, Arc Control appears

- Again, sadly, no inputs are possible, i can only move the arc control window with the mouse

=> sometimes, if i hurry up at software starts and move the mouse over the window, the color of one menue-entry changes, that's all

- then I go to the windows event viewer again and find consistently a application error with the following content:

(this seems to me as an error in the qcs.dll, it has the same size in version 4255 as in 4257. I assume, that not the installation is the problem, but anything is missing in the qcs.dll, necessary for my system. But the windows installation is very new and I would think it's very near to standard)

Hello Jean_Intel.

I am very thankful for all the help in this community.

So, as attatchment you will find all requested informations (hopefully - if i do wrong please tell me).

In the meantime, I've tested different screen resolutions. Normal i use 3840x2160 with a scaling of 150%. For test i decrease this to different lower value with 100% scaling and reboot. Result: Problem persists

With kind regards

Christian

Hello Jean.

I've decided to start with a complete new Windows 11 installation over the weekend. A lot of work again - uff

Previously I started with a Windows 10 and a direct update to Windows 11, then refresh all the drivers for my new asus mainboard with

the software amoury crate and also with the intel support&driver assistent. After that I installed all the necessary programms as LibreOffice, Delphi and VMWareWorkstation ...

The Arc A770 was the last thing to do. With the problems described above.

Now, with the completly new installation of Windows 11, the Arc A770 was already attached in the board, driver installation only with Amoury Crate from ASUS and installation of the Arc Control software with 101.4255. All things work fine now, yeah

Step by step expand all needed sofware. No errors detected until now. So far, VMWareWorkstation is missing, but I am realy hopeful that this will also work.

I am happy now, in that you/we can close this discussion.

Plenty thank's for all your help and replies.

Kind regards

Christian
