Hello,
I am having trouble in DayZ (Steam). The game will start and work perfectly, but overtime the game will use more and more VRAM until it exceeds the card's capacity and dip into shared memory. The FPS will then proceed to decline, especially in cities. Areas that I had already visited with 200 FPS will now have below 100, down to 30 FPS. This is on official servers as well.
System specs :
CPU : AMD Ryzen 5 7600X 6-Core Processor
RAM : Corsair 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR5-6000 CL30
GPU : Intel ARC B580 LE
MOB : MSI MAG B650 TOMAHAWK WIFI
PSU : Corsair RM750 (750W)
SSD : Kingston NV2 1TB
OS : Windows 11 Home
I have made sure the recommended settings are used (ReBAR, High performance power plan, ASPM Max.) and my current driver is 6874. The PC is a few months old, being built with the B580. BIOS is up to date, as is chipset drivers.
Solutions I have tried :
Uninstalled and reinstalled DayZ
60 FPS limit
Smart VSync/Low Latency Mode
Clean reinstall of windows
Clean install of drivers with DDU
Tested on old driver (6651)
Disabled iGPU in BIOS
Lower game resolution (Still occurs)
Lower in-game graphics (occurs even with all at low)
Windowed mode
I will attach screenshots of my video settings and FPS/Memory usage in official servers.
Another thread described this similar issue but was closed: Here

Hello Lohengramm,
Thank you for posting in the community and providing complete information. I just wanted to clarify whether this issue is isolated to the specific game you mentioned or if it occurs with other games as well.
Best regards,

Hello Lohengramm,
Thank you for your response. I forgot to ask could you let me know which other graphics driver versions you’ve tested with this issue? Have you tried the latest version, 32.0.101.6876?
Also, when updating the driver, did you use Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU), or did you select the 'Clean Installation' option during setup?
Best regards,
Dhanniel M.

I started playing DayZ last month and kept the drivers regularly updated, meaning I would have played on .6734 to .6790 and still encountered the issue.
Updating to 6876, I decided to the use the 'Clean Installation' option rather than DDU this time. The issue persists on the latest driver.

Hi @Lohengramm
I'm a noob in DayZ so please excuse me if this question makes no sense:
- You said this happens on official servers... but do you have any mods installed?
The reason I'm asking is because a quick google search showed this happening in the past with other GPUs as well and some folks confirmed mods may cause this leak:
https://www.reddit.com/r/dayz/comments/11p0pcp/dayz_will_use_all_of_my_memory_causing_my_pc_to/
https://steamcommunity.com/app/221100/discussions/5/1643170903492340636/
https://forums.dayz.com/topic/250253-memory-leak/
Anyway, we'll need to reproduce this in order to find a solution... is it necessary to play the game for 5 hours to see the problem? How much time is often needed?
Has this been reported to the game developer as well?
Best Regards,
Ronald M.

Hello,
Official servers are stock DayZ, while I do have mods installed to play modded servers, official servers will not load these mods.
However, just to be certain, I uninstalled all my mods and did another test on official servers and there is still overflow and performance drops. Screenshots below.
I wouldn't say 5 hours is necessary since I took a few breaks during that run, 3 hours is probably more accurate. On modded servers, the VRAM overflows quite quick, often within 30 minutes which makes them quite unenjoyable. However, I kept my tests on official to wipe mods of culpability.
I have not reported it to the game developer since my friends with other graphics cards, such as a 4060 and 2080, do not have the issue.
After more digging, I did find that this was also an issue on the A770:

Cheers for the responses, I appreciate it

I have the same problem. I hope Intel can fix it. It seems to be related to the integrated graphics card!?
My computer is Intel 11400 and ARC B580, motherboard ASUS B560F, 64G RAM, and the game is (Sword and Fairy 7).
I don't know why. After installing ARC B580, the FPS is very low when I start playing games, only 46-60??
As the game time continues, the FPS will continue to decrease. As I keep loading new maps, the FPS will soon crash! It will even reach 2-3, and the VRAM will exceed 15-16G.
I can only close the game and restart, and then the same problem will happen again.
I tried everything you tried. After two weeks, I was going crazy!!..
Finally I found out!! The BIOS (ASUS B560-F) integrated graphics card setting is AUTO by default. I changed it to PEG. After that, there was no VRAM problem. The game FPS was 100-120. I hope Intel can fix it....

I have the exact same issue. Thanks for reporting this bug. The VRAM appears to fill over time, my son's Nvidia 4060ti does not have this issue despite lower VRAM.
Restarting the game every hour or so will fix the issue, but there is clearly a problem.
I play DayZ on modded servers, have clean installed the drivers and checked the game integrity. One unique feature of the game is that objects spawn in as you travel the map, and remain there, so even the servers need to restart every 3 hours or so as they get cluttered with objects. That said, I appear to be unique in having this problem as other players do not have the gradual sink in GFX card performance from 70+ FPS to just 10FPS over time.

You're likely facing a VRAM leak in DayZ with your Intel ARC B580 LE. The game builds up VRAM usage over time, hurting FPS—especially in cities.
Quick Fixes:
Set a hard FPS cap (60–90) using Intel ARC Control or RTSS.
Try fullscreen mode, not windowed.
Lower texture quality only, not all settings.
Use ARC Control to monitor and reset VRAM-heavy overlays.
Intel ARC cards are still getting optimized—especially for games like DayZ. If your moving company team plays off-hours, stable FPS matters. Keep drivers updated and watch for future patches.

I'll go ahead and play the game to reproduce this issue (official servers, no mods).
As you may know, I need to be able to consistently reproduce the bug so I can promote it to our driver dev team.
Side question: when the VRAM leak occurs, if you do not restart the game and continue playing is the game eventually crashing or not? If yes, do you see any error message?
Thank you for all your input.

I have not crashed when the VRAM leak occurs. After leaving the game on for a long duration, reaching up to 20 gig memory, the game still did not crash.
Hope you're able to get it done.
Cheers.

I'm still testing... played for 3 hours on official servers and saw the VRAM peak at 11.2GB but FPS remained consistently high (+90 FPS at 1440p, FullScreen, high settings). In the same session I changed to a community server and saw the VRAM remained around 11.2GB but this time FPS was less than 40 FPS.
In still looking into this, in parallel could you test with latest driver 32.0.101.6881 ? If you still see the issue could you please capture the CapFrameX performance data? (you can start capturing the data from the moment the FPS starts dropping)

Hi everyone,
I was able to reproduce the issue. This is now reported to our driver dev team.
I cannot provide an ETA but rest assured that as soon as there is any news I'll update this thread.

Hello Ronald
I too have the exact issue with my brand new B580 Sparkle. I just put this new PC together a few weeks ago to specifically play DayZ on PC and after several hours of play, on almost every occasion my VRAM maxes out and i start noting a severe drop in performance.
Its great you were able to replicate, im happy to help with any new info you might need.
Is this something that is likely to get the devs attention soon? make it to a future driver update etc, the recent driver release files seem to focus on the newer AAA games...
hoping i dont have to buy a new Nvidia GPU so soon after buying an intel...
thanks

I have to say it seems worse than ever now, im on latest driver 32.0.101.6881 as well.
i bought the A580 only a few months ago and it always seemed to take a whilst for the issue to occur and VRAM to max out at 12GB, but i just played some dayz again just now and it was occurring after 15mins, i have to reboot twice in 30mins and decided to stop altogether.
im absolutely bummed out, i gave up dayz on console and went for this GPU for a better life on PC...
@RonaldM_Intel hey ronald, as per my last post pls mate, do you have any good news from those lovely devs?
im dying here now and starting to consider buying a new gpu...
thanks

Hello @Lohengramm, @Freestyler323, @freeride and @geza001,
Thank you for your patience. After conducting thorough testing and investigation, we have determined that the issue originates from the game itself. We recommend reaching out to Bohemia Interactive, the game developer, for further assistance. While this may not be the update you were hoping for, our findings are based on comprehensive testing and replication.
I will now close this inquiry. Should you require further assistance, please feel free to submit a new question, as this thread will no longer be monitored.
Thank you for your understanding.
