Interlaced Scan

Okay after lots of hard work im finally putting together my low latency PC build, i have accepted that i will overpay (and i have) on multiple parts, i've overpaid for my 10900K and my ROG Maximus XII Hero wifi board.

Look people, i know im gonna get ripped off paying 400-500U$D on a B580 , and honestly, i dont care, i want a modern gpu that can raytrace and do interlaced resolutions, i know that your hardware is still capable of interlaced scan because i just saw the arc integrated graphics on the new Core Ultras doing 480i60hz on a generic tv in youtube, i also know that day1 drivers on the A770 did interlaced resolutions on all of its ports albeit glitchy.

I will overpay and defend intel arc until the end of times, i dont care if i only get RTX 3060 non-Ti performance thats fine , i just want interlaced resolutions, and if you could accept sub25mhz resolutions that would be even better.

I use a CRT Monitor on my desktop computer and i will never use an lcd, oled, led or any flat panel as my desktop computer monitor, i just want to drive it to the max.

This is my final formal request after rooting for intel for almost 3 years, even though both Alchemist and Battlemage did not launch in my country, right now im ready to import the gpu and pay whatever they ask if it can do interlaced resolutions properly like intel core igpus can, its all i ask folks nothing more, im going to buy a gpu next month but it could wait until april.

If battlemage or Alchemist dont support it by then then...what would be the reason to buy an intel gpu? there is literally not a single thing arc offers that geforce and radeon dont, this is something arc hardware supports and both geforce and amd dont , rtx and rdna2+ gpus cannot interlaced at all from HARDWARE, if intel can but the programmers at the driver team decided that it just doesnt matter...that would be such a waste.

Hi juanme555,

Thank you for sharing your detailed feedback and dedication to Intel products. I understand how important interlaced resolutions and specific hardware capabilities are for your setup. I want to let you know that the integrated Intel® Arc™ Graphics do support interlaced mode through native HDMI as long as the display's panel supports it, however, for Intel® Arc A-Series Desktop graphics and newer, interlaced resolutions are not supported. You may visit this link for more information: Does Intel® Arc™ Graphics Support Interlaced Resolutions?

I will pass along your request internally to ensure it reaches the appropriate team. Your input is valuable, and we appreciate your patience and support.

Best,

Hi juanme555,

To help us address your request more effectively, our team needs some additional information and clarification on a few points.

  1. Display Information: Could you please provide the make and model of the display you are using?
  2. Adapter/Converter Usage: Are you using any adapter or converter with your display setup? If so, please provide details.
  3. IGCC Report: We would like to gather a report from the Intel® Graphics Command Center (IGCC) to verify supported modes. Please follow the instructions in our Report for Intel® Graphics Drivers and refer to "Step 2: Locate and save the graphics driver report" to generate and share the report with us.

Your cooperation in providing this information will be invaluable in helping us resolve your issue. If you have any questions or need assistance with the steps, please feel free to reach out.

Best,

Hello , i do not currently have an Arc Discrete GPU , my 10900K computer has a GTX 1080 Ti because its the best gpu i could find that can output interlaced resolutions.

My CRT Monitor is a Samsung Syncmaster 997MB , it has 97kHz and my GENERIC HDMI TO VGA adapter (literally no brand) is able to output 1920x1440i 120hz (Standard CVT Timings) on it no issue, and 1920x1200i 144hz too.

The monitor and adapter arent the issue, the issue is the graphics card, this 1080Ti is starting to show its age, i would very much love to upgrade to anything modern, my igpu reports would be useless because this motherboard's hdmi port cant output a signal to my crt monitor i dont know why, i think it's got something to do with it not having enough power on the 12V line or something like that, but it CAN do interlaced resolutions on LCD screens.

If you can wait until sunday, i can try to boot up my old i3 9100 computer and give you this report you're asking , if you are telling me that this could potentially help you bring interlaced support to Arc , i would absolutely do it.

Hi juanme555,

I appreciate your patience as we looked into this for you.

I can confirm that the B580 does support interlaced modes, but only through native HDMI connections. Please be aware that using an adapter may alter how the GPU interacts with the display, and as a result, we cannot guarantee that interlaced modes will function properly in such configurations. The GPU requires a native connection for optimal performance, and therefore, we do not recommend using adapters with the B580 for interlaced support.
