Problem with newer updates on A750

Hi,

I've just tried to install the new driver for the Arc a750 and i have the same issue i've had with the last updates.

i've posted this in another thread before:

https://community.intel.com/t5/Intel-ARC-Graphics/Bugs-in-ARC-graphics-cards-driver-version-31-0-101-5445-WHQL/m-p/1593277#M13998

So, here is my thread that still contains the same problem for the card to update to a newer drivers than v.5379 (31.0.101.5379)

When i start the new .exe and extract the new driver it just boots up to loading then dies. no more.

So what i just did (today) is a DDU and tried to install new latest drivers, but no succes. (also updated Bios to the latest version.)

So i had to download the old 5379 driver and install that, and woho! it worked.

So i can't update my A750 to any later drivers then the ones that released 19 mars 2024.

Hope there is a quick solution to my problem.

regards

Hello @Xzorn

Hmmm, based on your description and the forum thread you've linked, it appears that you've encountered difficulties with the driver installation process after attempting to update to newer versions beyond driver version 31.0.101.5379. Despite performing a clean uninstall using DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) and updating your BIOS to the latest version, you've encountered issues where the installation process hangs or fails to complete successfully. Given that reverting to driver version 31.0.101.5379 resolved the issue and allowed the graphics card to function properly, it seems there may be compatibility or installation issues with the newer driver versions on your system.

Try these:

  1. Sometimes, manually installing the driver through Device Manager can bypass issues encountered during automated installations. You can do this by downloading the driver package from the Intel website, extracting it, and then updating the driver through Device Manager.

  2. Ensure that the newer driver versions are compatible with your specific hardware configuration and operating system version (Windows 10 or Windows 11).

  3. Have you tried to use Intel® Driver & Support Assistant (Intel® DSA)? . It can detect and offer upgrades for many of the drivers and software that are available on Download Center.
  4. You can use Automatically Update Graphics Drivers Using Intel® Arc™ Control

I understand your desire for a quick resolution, and I hope these suggestions help you achieve stability with your graphics card drivers.

regards,

Perkins

Hi @AceOfSpades45682

Thank you for your reply.

Intalling it through the Device maganer did the trick.

To do this, i used Winrar to extract the .exe file (to a fodler) that i downloaded from intel arc latest drivers.

Then in Device manager just selected the folder and it started to update the card.

-- FYI --

I've tried to use the Intel DSA - no sucess

Same with the arc controll(auto update and manually)

It's quite wiered, i tryied to disable firewalls and everything. Windows 11 (latest update)

I dont know how it is with all of you out there, but when i update the driver on my card. just now for example, my computer reboots like there is a issue with the installation. But i can't notice that anything is wrong.

Hi

Yeah.. you got it sorted out with the Device Manager method. It seems like a straightforward workaround. Are you noticing any errors at this time when updating the graphics version? by the way, the graphics version 31.0.101.5379 is rather outdated, but today, I noticed there's a newer version 32.0.101.5762 available for the A750 graphics on this website

...also in this link https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/download/785597/intel-arc-iris-xe-graphics-windows.html youll see the       "Are you still experiencing an error preventing the driver update? Look here for why and a solution." you can visit that link

Hi ShunMnzed,

Thank you for our post.

Yeah, the .5379 i hade installed was an old driver. BUT. That was the latest one that worked for an "normal" .exe installation of any drivers.

So i did the Device Manager installation and it did the trick. At the time when i did this the latest drivers had been released (.5762)

To answer your question i have not had any problems with newer update or the drivers that is curently installed, it's the latest one.

I did check the solutions that you liked to, but that didnt help me with my problem.

Hi,

Just got a nitification that there were new drivers to install for the card.

This time it was the same, extract then no installation.

So same as before, install it through device manager and it did it again.

Kind of enoying but it works.
