Hey Intel Support Team and everyone in the community,
Writing to you as someone who really enjoys their Intel Arc A770 card. You guys are doing a great job with the drivers, it's definitely appreciated!
I've got a question about getting access to older driver versions. I always make sure to save all the drivers I install, just in case I need to roll back to a previous version. But lately, I've noticed that a bunch of the old download links, especially the ones that included Intel Arc Control, are just giving me an "Access Denied" error. Like this link, for example: downloadmirror.intel.com/842081/gfx_win_101.6314.exe.
From my own experience, the files needed for Arc Control often stick around in the ..\ProgramData\Package Cache folder after a full driver installation. That lets me personally get it working for my own needs.
So, I was wondering if Intel might consider making these older driver packages, or at least the versions that had Arc Control, available again? Or is there any possibility of getting official permission, or some other solution, so that we who save drivers can make it possible for others to also use Arc Control via these older files?
Many users, myself included, really value having the option to use Arc Control. If you could find a way for the community to access these specific older versions, it would be awesome and give us more flexibility to set up our systems how we like.
Thanks for your time and for considering this.
Best regards, S.G

Hi @Exekverad,
Thank you for reaching out and for your kind words about the Intel Arc A770 and our driver development efforts we truly appreciate your support!
I’ve noted your request regarding access to older driver versions, particularly those that included Intel Arc Control. I’ll check on this internally and will provide you with an update once I have more information and a clearer understanding of the reasoning behind the current availability, as this relates to the ongoing development and improvement of our drivers.
Thanks again for your feedback and patience.
Regards,

Hi @Exekverad,
Older drivers may not be accessible due to several reasons, even if previously downloaded and saved to your system. Older drivers might have vulnerabilities that could compromise system security. Restricting access helps protect users from potential risks. Intel focuses on supporting and maintaining current driver versions to ensure optimal performance and reliability. Older versions may not receive updates or support. Lastly, there may be legal or licensing agreements that limit the distribution of older software versions. We appreciate your understanding and are here to support you with any current driver needs or questions you may have.

Randy T.
