Steam Proton performance much lower then expected

Ive been trying to get back onto linux and ive noticed that my performance in steam games is much lower then on windows  on the same hardware

for example monster hunter rise at high 1440p on the islands map

windows:100-90fps

linux: 50-40fps

all the other games i have tested have also felt significaly slower but i dont

i did a gravity mark benchmark awhile ago and the scores were

windows: 29,989

linux: 26,109

linux is cachyos and is fully updated

I will further check on the issue that you brought up.

Kindly run this on your system so that I can also gauge the following peripherals and the driver versions that you have:

Intel® System Support Utility for Windows*

Once finished downloading, open the tool, click on scan (leave the default items checked), click next, then save the system information to a .txt file. Please provide us the .txt file.

Thank you for patiently waiting, upon further checking on your concern.

Please keep in mind that the only distro officially supported is Ubuntu 22.04 and 23.04. I would also like to set the right expectations with you on this topic: while the Ubuntu Arc drivers receive updates on a regular basis its release cadence on improvements in the gaming landscape is not as periodical as Windows platform (e.g. gaming install-base on Windows is much larger) thus we cannot guarantee performance parity between platforms on a game-by-game basis.

Thank you for providing us this feedback and please check the distro repository for the latest updates as they may improve performance.
