Dear Sir/Madam,

In the description of the Intel® Graphics Driver 32.0.101.6913 (WHQL Certified), you refer to an article with the following content:

Manufacturer (OEM) Customizations If I Update to an Intel Graphics Driver?

Description

Will my OEM customizations be lost when upgrading my graphics driver?

Resolution

OEM customizations will not be lost when updating to the latest Intel Graphics Drivers. Go ahead with normal driver installation to retain computer manufacturer (OEM) driver customizations.

However, performing a clean installation of this Intel generic graphics driver may overwrite OEM customizations. OEM drivers are handpicked and include customized features and solutions to platform-specific issues. The generic Intel driver provides users with the latest and greatest feature enhancements and bug fixes that OEMs may not have customized to address platform-specific needs. Users can check for matching OEM versions at OEM websites.

I have a Samsung Galaxy Book5 Pro with the 32.0.101.6647 driver installed by Samsung. Samsung isn't clear whether this is an OEM driver or not.

However, if you indicate that OEM customizations will not be lost when updating to the latest Intel graphics drivers with a normal installation, I will be able to upgrade the current driver.

Could you please let me know if my reasoning is correct and why OEM customizations will not be lost?

Thank you in advance.
Kind regards,

      Jaap Houtman

You cannot upgrade your device to arc graphics.

Thank you for your quick reply.

For my understanding, please explain why I will not be able to upgrade the driver that is currently installed to the version that is listed in de output of the Intel Driver & Support Assistant as being a software update available and the fact that possible OEM customizations will not be lost?

Thanks!

Do you currently have arc graphics?  If not, then you cannot upgrade your notebook motherboard to arc graphics.  Samsung can explain that to you.

Now, if you have iris xe graphics, then you can update your drive ti tge nist recent drive.

To eliminate any guessing, so the Intel support engineers can have more information about your system, Please download and run the Intel System Support Utility (https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25293/Intel-System-Support-Utility-for-Windows- ) for Windows. Select all data categories and then have it generate a report. Next, have the tool Save the report to a text file (don't try to use the Submit capability; it doesn't work). Finally, using the Drag and drop here or browse files to attach dialog below the edit box for the body of your response post, upload and attach this file to the response post.

Ok, I am not sure what you are asking.  You have arc graphics.  The latest driver can be found here:

https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/download/785597/intel-arc-iris-xe-graphics-windows.html

You should be able to update your driver, unless samsung is blocking any updates.

Samsung is not blocking any updates for any Intel drivers. In the assumption that Samsung hasn't made any customizations sofar to the graphics driver, there is no reason for not updating the currently installed driver by the latest generic Intel Graphics Driver. If however Samsung has made some customizations there is no problem as well because of the following statement on your website:

"OEM customizations will not be lost when updating to the latest Intel Graphics Drivers. Go ahead with normal driver installation to retain computer manufacturer (OEM) driver customizations.
However, performing a clean installation of this Intel generic graphics driver may overwrite OEM customizations. "

You can either update, or not.  If you like the latest driver, good.  If you do not, you can roll-back to the previous.
