arc b580 no output signal via DP - HDMI cable

Refuses to output signal from any DP port via DP - HDMI cable. The system is clean, I specially installed a new one. The BIOS is the latest, I specially updated it. The cable is 100% working, two video cards 980ti and 1080 do not complain about it. HDMI works without problems in any case. Does this card really not support cables of this type? It will be sad if so, because this is the only way I can use two monitors

You need a cable with an active protocol converter (PCON). This chip is usually integrated into the connector housing on the HDMI side. I use this cable and consider it the best and most compatible on the market. It contains the Synaptics VMM7100 (Spyder). Manufacturer's description:

  • Certified by Intel for use on the latest Alder Lake CPU and Alchemist GPU platforms (DG2) based on the Xe-HPG architecture.
  • Selected by Intel for Alchemist Reference Validation Platforms (DG2) (FRD7).

Do you have a link to the cable you're using?

To determine if your present cable contains a Synaptics chip, try the following:

  • Download and unzip the attached ZIP file.
  • Run VmmDPTool64.exe as administrator (right-click and select "Run as administrator").
  • If there is no Synaptics chip in the connected cable, the tool will report that nothing was found.
  • Otherwise, a screen similar to the one below will appear.
  • Select the "Debug" tab (1) and click "FW Version" (2).

What is displayed as the [CHIP ID] and [Firmware Version] at (3)?

Thanks for the answer, yes, apparently the cable turned out to be passive. I would never have thought about it. The problem is solved, a friend had a cable that was suitable.

Hi,

Thank you for your advice.  I am having a heck of time to get my LG C4 42 to cooperate with either my b580 or a770.  After buying, swapping hdmi cable, and adapters, ddu, reinstalling drivers, I think you gave me hope.  Is there anyway you can recommend a HDMI cable? or adapter? links not working anymore.

Thanks

I can't give you any good advice. I just had a cable, and no one knows what kind it is. Apparently, it came with the monitor. So, I'd be happy to help, but I have nothing. You'll have to look for an "active" one, as mentioned in the comments.
This cable does NOT working for me

The ideal scenario would be:
Use the Arc B580 and connect an Ultra High Speed HDMI cable, preferably a certified one, between your graphics card and the TV. The cable length should be no less than 2 meters (6.6 feet) and no more than 3 meters (10 feet).

Examples:

This connection enables a maximum of 4K @ 120 Hz (or VRR) RGB 10-bit HDR on the LG C4.

If you're using the Arc A770, variable refresh rate won't work because the HDMI port on the Arc A770 isn't native and therefore doesn't support VRR. Please note that depending on the manufacturer, the Arc A770 might not have an HDMI 2.1 port at all, meaning you'll have to make do with 4K @ 60 Hz.

If you prefer to use DisplayPort on the graphics card, you can, but without VRR. In this case, please use this cable:

Club 3D CAC-1087

It enables 4K @ 120 Hz RGB 10-bit HDR (but without VRR) with all Intel Arc graphics cards.

Thank you and ordered the Zeskit Maya.  Cable should be in Tuesday, and will follow up with results.
