HI. I am experiencing system crashes while playing No man sky,

Reproduction method:

Game is ok for minute then starts random stutter, and after 15-30 minutes system goes into BSOD.

The exact BSOD varies, but most refer igdkmdnd64.sys as the issue

Systems spec:

64GB Corsair Vengeance DDR5 6000

750W be quiet! Straight Power 12

Sparkle Arc 750 Titan OC

Win 10 pro 22H2 19045.5371

Hello lamhirh,

Thank you for reaching out! I understand that you are encountering system crashes with the error code, "igdkmdnd64.sys". I know that it is frustrating whenever playing a game and encounter Blue Screens.

To further assist you, please answer the following questions:

  • From what game platform are you playing No Man's Sky?
  • Do you encounter the same Crashes on other games?
  • Is this the first time you encountered this issue?
  • Did you make recent changes to the system?

Please generate an SSU report to help me further analyze important details on your system. To generate the SSU report, please refer to the article: How to get the Intel® System Support Utility Logs on Windows*. Please send us the generated SSU.txt file.

I look forward to your response!

Thank you for your response. To further investigate, kindly answer the additional following questions:

  • To be specific, have you not done any recent changes on the month of December? (Driver or BIOS updates?)
  • Was the game working fine before?
  • Are there specific point in the game where the crashes/ bsod happen when playing No Man's Sky?
  • Is ReBar enabled?

Hi lamhirh,

Thanks for getting back to us!

After reviewing the Intel SSU report you shared, we noticed that your graphics driver is outdated. Updating to the latest version (32.0.101.6557) can help improve performance and may resolve the issue you’re experiencing.

You can easily install the latest version using the link provided below:

Intel® Arc™ & Iris® Xe Graphics - Windows*

Keeping your drivers up to date is important for better performance, security, and compatibility. Updates can help boost frame rates, fix bugs, prevent crashes, and ensure everything runs smoothly with new software and hardware.

Let us know if you need any help with the installation—we’re happy to assist!

HI

i updated the driver to recomended one and problem seems to be gone ( I played few hours without crash) but have new weird issue:

I tend to sleep the PC overnight, now when I wake up, I have having same bluescreen between 5-20 minutes after waking the PC up ( doesn't matter what I am doing, it can be just idling). after restart, it is fine until next time I sleep the computer

Hello lamhirh,

Thank you for your response! And I'm glad to know that you are no longer encountering the issue frequently with the New Arc driver installed. However you're encountering the same bluescreen error whenever you make the system go on sleep.

Upon further investigation of your SSU Log, it seems that the BIOS of your system is currently outdated. I highly advise for you to update your BIOS and configure it to default settings. Please see B650E AORUS ELITE X AX ICE and kindly download and install the BIOS Version F34.

If the issue persists with the latest BIOS Version, please let me know.

I look forward to your response!
