metro exodus crash

Good night

 

I have a problem with Metro Exodus, with crashes when I arrive at a part of a mission the first mission crashes, there is no way to advance the game, then the performance is lower than expected, I did the clean uninstallation of Intel Arc drivers and reinstalled the new drivers, but the problem persists. I have everything on ultra with ray tracing activated and the quality of the extreme game and ray tracing on high and around 85 at 50 FPS, the performance This is very very low, something that should go from 100 to 105 FPS, please I need some drivers to correct that problem, the game runs DirectX 12 with the latest updates

I have to put the graphics on low to be able to advance the game, and I also want to comment that by setting the extreme graphics and ray tracing to no the performance reaches 144 to 125 FPS, and I would like it to be possible to play extreme with ultra ray tracing at between 100 and 105 FPS 1080p, which is why I need to report that incident

Thank you for posting back into the Intel communities. We will be more than glad to help you with the crashing issue when playing Metro Exodus. In order to better assist you, we would like to request more details about your issue. Please provide us with the following:

 

  • Which game distribution service did you use to obtain the game? (Steam, Epic Games, Microsoft Store, Xbox Store)
  • We understand that the game crashes in the first mission, but we would like to ask for a video reproducing the issue. It would help us better understand the crash to know where it happens and check the step-by-step to replicate the issue in case it is necessary.
  • When the crashing issue happens, do you receive an error message? If so, share a screenshot of the error message you encounter.
  • We appreciate the crash dump files you have shared. However, we want to request you to share a system report to check more details about your system to confirm your system environment and check if your unit is up to date. Create a report using the Intel SSU:
    • Open the application and click on "Scan" to see the system and device information. By default, Intel SSU will take you to the "Summary View."
    • Click on the menu where it says: "Summary" to change it to "Detailed View."
    • To save your scan: click on "Next"; and then "Save.

 

We understand that you also reported a performance issue, but we kindly request that one issue be reported per thread to assist the community and maintain order.

As we mentioned before, to ensure that we can assist you efficiently, we recommend that you report one issue per thread.  We will continue to help you with the crashing issue in Metro Exodus. We understand that you are experiencing some performance issues and would like to improve the stability and performance of DirectX 12 for Red Dead Redemption 2; we previously received your recommendation about this matter, and we have forwarded your recommendation to the relevant team. However, we are unable to provide any updates on this matter.

 

Regarding the crashing issue, we suggest that you use the Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) to remove any previous driver files and residues before installing the new driver 31.0.101.4887 again. I already told you that I uninstalled drivers with the program Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) to Uninstall in safe mode, and I also installed the latest version 31.0.101.4887, the problem persists, I must lower the quality to be able to move forward; The problem I have with Red Dead Redemption 2 in DirectX 12 is, when I activate vertical synchronization and 144Hz, there is where the performance throws the low FPS, which would be 1 FPS, I must activate 50Hz and the synchronization disabled, to be able to play 50 at 60 FPS, I hope the drivers are about to arrive and correct that problem and performance, Please we need to do something, obviously you can't do anything about the drivers when it is released etc, But I remind you that Red Dead Redemption 2 activating 144Hz and synchronization vertical is there where it shoots me 1 FPS, I must disable synchronization and 50Hz

We invite you to report this matter in a new thread, sharing all the details you have in a new thread, as we are currently assisting you with the  Metro Exodus crashing problem.

 

We also want to apologize for the inconvenience. When reviewing your information, we are aware that you normally use the DDU to install the new drivers; however, this time you only mentioned having performed a clean installation, which we considered you executed the manual process without the help of the DDU. Since the issue remains even after uninstalling all the previous driver files using the DDU, we will now proceed to investigate this matter internally. We will post back as soon as we have more details.

Thank you for waiting for a response on this matter. We would like to let you know after researching this matter, we have tested the game, and we have not been able to replicate the crashing issue. You can take a look at the following video, showing the steps we followed. We would like to invite you to check the video and let us know if there is a step missing that we should try. We also understand that the FPS doesn't reach 80 FPS, as you mentioned; however, the frame rate was stable.

However, based on this information and considering that you constantly run the DDU tool to update drivers. You should try re-installing the game and check if the issue remains.

RAY TRACING is set to high in the video you sent, if you put it in ultra ray tracing and then the quality of the extreme game and activate HAIRWORKS there is where it crashes and the performance is low, maybe the day after tomorrow I will send you the video and I will tell you zone and site, there is a mission where the first mission crashes when it is advancing, and you will see it
