Thank you for posting on Intel Community Forum and taking the time to share your detailed experience with driver 8626. Your thorough description of the crashes in Forza Horizon 5 and GTA 5 is exactly the kind of feedback that helps us improve our products.

I completely understand your frustration there's nothing more disappointing than having games that previously ran beautifully with ray tracing suddenly become unstable after a driver update. It's especially concerning that even reducing graphics settings only postpones the crashes rather than eliminating them entirely.

To help us investigate this thoroughly, I'd appreciate your assistance with a few key details:

  • Which previous driver version was working perfectly for you?
  • Are you seeing similar crashes in other games, or is this isolated to Forza Horizon 5 and GTA 5?
  • How much gameplay time do you typically get before crashes occur both with maxed settings and reduced settings?
  • Do the crashes seem to happen during specific moments (loading, intense scenes, randomly during gameplay)?
  • Is Resizable BAR currently enabled in your BIOS settings?
  • Are you running any overclocking on your GPU or CPU?
  • Which graphics API are you using in these games (DirectX 11, DirectX 12, Vulkan)?

To get a complete picture of your system setup, could you please generate an Intel System Support Utility (SSU) report?

Download here: Intel® System Support Utility for Windows*

Please remember to uncheck the "Networking" option when generating the report.

If possible, could you also share:

• Screenshots of any error messages you encounter

• Screenshots of your in-game graphics settings for both games

Your willingness to test different driver versions and provide detailed observations is tremendously helpful.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation. We're committed to getting this resolved and ensuring you can get back to enjoying your games with the performance you expect.

Best Regards

Hello,

Regarding the points you requested:

Since I'm not proficient in English, the following content was generated by AI.

  1. I update to the latest driver whenever available, so I’m not sure which version was "perfect." However, driver 8626 causes crashes, while rolling back to the previous version 8531 works normally.

  2. No similar crashes occur in other games. The crashes in Forza Horizon 5and GTA 5happen when ray tracing is enabled and graphics are set to maximum. Ray tracing may not be the sole cause, as GTA 5still crashed with ray tracing off, but reducing ray tracing and extended shadows prolongs gameplay before crashing.

  3. At max settings, crashes occur about 5 minutes after entering the game. Lowering graphics settings significantly extends playtime before crashing.

  4. Crashes happen at random moments during gameplay.

  5. Resizable BAR is enabled in BIOS.

  6. I have not overclocked the GPU or CPU, but I have enabled XMP for memory in BIOS.

  7. The graphics API is set to the default in both games.

I hope this information is helpful for your investigation. I will do my best to support your technical team with any further questions you may have. Unfortunately, due to my limited technical ability, these are all the materials and details I am able to provide at the moment.

Thank you for your support.

Hello lmq9527,

Thank you for your detailed response and for sharing all this information. It is very helpful for our investigation, and we truly appreciate your effort in providing these details.

Based on your observations especially the crashes occurring on driver version 8626 and improved stability on version 8531—we would like to recommend the following next steps to help isolate and potentially resolve the issue:

1. Perform a Clean Installation of Graphics Drivers

We recommend performing a clean installation of the graphics driver to ensure there are no remnants of previous driver versions causing conflicts. Please follow the steps provided in the link below:

https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000057389/graphics.html

2. Update System BIOS

We also suggest updating your system BIOS to the latest available version from your system manufacturer. BIOS updates can include important system stability improvements and compatibility fixes that may help resolve this issue.

After completing the above steps, please test the games again (Forza Horizon 5 and GTA V) and let us know if the issue persists.

We understand that troubleshooting can be challenging, and we appreciate your patience and cooperation. If you need any assistance while performing these steps, please feel free to reach out we’re here to help.

Looking forward to your update.
