Using B580 w/ 32.0.101.8425
Trails of Cold Steel 1 - GOG Edition, and DXVK 2.7.1
SSU attached.
When installing DXVK to the game (by copying in the 32 bit d3d11.dll and dxgi.dll to the game folder), running the game (either from launcher or ed8.exe directly) launches straight to full white window and freezes immediately. This is true whether launched windowed, fullscreen, or windowed with Borderless Gaming. Application must be force-closed.
This appears to be an old issue related specifically to Intel drivers, per this DXVK git issue.
I've also attached the DXVK logs.

1. The game does run in its native DX11 mode, just with inexplicable performance issues (hence the attempt to run it with DXVK).
2. Have not observed it in other games, but have not exhaustively tested it with other games either.
3. I enabled DevOverride in the registry, just to confirm it was actually loading both of the local DLLs; I tried launching the game in every different permutation of fullscreen or windowed mode (as described above); I tried rolling back to older versions of DXVK; I updated Vulkan runtimes; I also created a dxvk.conf and tried various troubleshooting options (one at a time), including enabling allowFSE, enableUe4Workarounds, dxgi.deferSurfaceCreation, and hideIntelGpu. None of this changed the behavior.

Hi DJO_Maverick,
Thank you for the update and for providing additional details regarding the issue you encountered.
To help us further isolate the problem, could you please provide the following information?
- Can you share the exact link where you downloaded DXVK 2.7.1?
- Can you provide the exact game version of Trails of Cold Steel 1 and the source where you downloaded it?
- Have you tried removing the old graphics drivers using Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) and then installing the latest Intel Graphics driver?
We appreciate your cooperation and look forward to your response.
Best regards,

DXVK Release page here.
GOG is the source for ToCS. Version 1.6.
If you're asking if I used DDU between drivers "8331 and "8362, no, I did not.

Hi DJO_Maverick,
Thank you for the update!
After reviewing the information you’ve provided, I noticed that your BIOS version is outdated. Could you please update the BIOS and then use DDU to perform a clean installation of the latest Intel® Arc Graphics driver 32.0.101.8425/32.0.101.8362 (WHQL Certified) ?
You may download the correct BIOS version for your system using this link:
Z790 GAMING WIFI7 Version 1825
You may also refer to this article for instructions on how to use DDU:
How to Use the Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) to Uninstall a Graphics Driver
Please take note that it is important to boot the system in Safe Mode before running DDU to avoid potential graphics issues.
Keeping your BIOS up to date is essential for system stability, optimization, and improved graphics card performance.
Once you have completed the steps above, kindly check if the issue persists.
If it does, please provide a new SSU log so we can continue investigating.
I will be waiting for your update.
Best Regards,
Patrick V.
