Bugs encountered while playing 'Monster Hunter: World'

Dear Intel Graphics Developer,

I am a loyal Intel user from China.I am experiencing an issue while playing 'Monster Hunter: World' with the Arc B580 graphics card. Specifically, when in the 'Tradeyard' area of the 'Astera' scene, the CPU usage spikes above 90%, while the GPU usage drops to around 30%. As a result, the frame rate significantly decreases to around 50 FPS. However, when switching to other scenes, the frame rate can normally maintain around 120 FPS, and the GPU usage approaches 100%. My CPU is an i5-14600K, the graphics driver is the latest version 8135, and the Windows version is Windows 11 Pro 25H2. This issue has been occurring since updating from Windows 11 Pro 24H2 to 25H2 and was also present in several versions prior to driver version 8135. I hope this problem can be investigated and resolved as soon as possible.

Hi Polsute,

Thank you for the detailed report about the Monster Hunter: World performance issue you're experiencing with your Intel Arc B580. I appreciate you providing comprehensive screenshots showing the performance differences between the Tradeyard area and other locations, along with your system specifications.

Your issue description is very clear: in the Tradeyard area of Astera, you're experiencing CPU usage spikes above 90% while GPU usage drops to around 30%, resulting in frame rate drops to approximately 50 FPS. Meanwhile, other areas maintain normal performance with ~120 FPS and near 100% GPU utilization.

The correlation with your Windows 11 Pro upgrade from 24H2 to 25H2 is particularly interesting and suggests this may be related to system-level changes affecting GPU scheduling or resource allocation in that specific scene.

Before we investigate further, I need to confirm one important troubleshooting step:

Clean Driver Installation: Have you performed a clean installation of the latest driver version 32.0.101.8135 using DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller)?

If not, please try:

  1. Download DDU: https://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html
  2. Latest Driver: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/download/785597/intel-arc-graphics-windows.html

Clean Installation Process:

  • Boot into Safe Mode
  • Run DDU to completely remove all Intel graphics drivers
  • Restart normally
  • Install driver version 32.0.101.8135
  • Test Monster Hunter: World in the Tradeyard area

Additional Questions:

  1. Can you confirm this issue occurs specifically in the Tradeyard area of Astera and not in other parts of Astera?
  2.  Does this happen every time you enter the Tradeyard, or only under certain conditions?
  3. Do you experience similar issues in any other specific locations within the game?

This appears to be a scene-specific rendering optimization issue that may be related to Windows 11 25H2 changes affecting GPU resource management. Your detailed documentation will be valuable for investigating this performance regression.

Please let me know the results after performing the DDU clean installation.

Dear Intel Graphics Developer,
As shown in the images and videos below, this bug occurs every time the game is launched and every time the player returns to the 【tradeyard】 area. I followed the method you described: first, I downloaded the DDU installer from the official DDU website, then downloaded the latest 8136 version of the graphics driver from Intel's official website. Afterwards, I booted into Windows Safe Mode and ran the DDU program to completely uninstall the graphics driver. After the uninstallation was complete, I installed the latest 8136 version of the graphics driver. However, upon launching the game again, the bug still persists.

Hi Polsute,

Thank you for following the DDU clean installation process with the latest driver version 32.0.101.8136 and for confirming that the issue persists in the Tradeyard area of Monster Hunter: World. I appreciate you providing the images and videos that clearly demonstrate the performance drops occurring every time you launch the game and return to the Tradeyard area.

To help me conduct a thorough analysis of this Tradeyard performance issue, could you please capture approximately 5 minutes of CapFrameX data while playing in the problematic area? This performance data will provide detailed metrics that will be invaluable for identifying the specific bottlenecks causing the CPU usage spikes and GPU utilization drops.

Your detailed documentation of this issue has been excellent, and the additional performance data will help me provide more targeted analysis and potential solutions.
