Crashing issues using XeSS FG

Whenever I use XeSS FG, I crash the moment I have to tab out. Usually accompanied by all open windows on my other screen also **bleep**ting themselves and resetting after a short (1-3sec) black screen. When I try to stream or record it happens after a short bit or sometimes when I open anything involving a menu(?). Is this normal?

I've already tried uninstalling my drivers via DDU, and updating the BIOS firmware & chipset drivers.

B580, 32.0.101.8824 Drivers, MAG Tomahawk B550, 5600x, 32GB RAM

(I probably should mention that it doesn't happen using FSR FG.)

Funnily enough, after months of crashing (I thought everyone has this issue, so I just waited for a fix) I finally seemed to have the issue resolved. I changed multiple things before checking if it worked, so I can't 100% tell what the fix was. For future people with the same problem, here's what I've tried:
Installing the latest driver version, using DDU once again just in case
Changing my CPU clock rate
Using different V-Sync related options in the Intel Graphics Software
Changing from GPU Scaling to Display Scaling (unlikely that was the culprit, but still)

And in case it helps with future requests I'll still answer the questions:
It happened in EVERY game using XeSS FG, no matter if native support (CP2077/Dune:Awakening/Diablo4) or modded in (Ark:SA via Optiscaler)
It did not occur when swapping to Fullscreen, probably because it disabled FG in the first place
I was mostly streaming via Discord, but recording in OBS crashed the game as well
HAGS is set to On

Hello Bierpudding,

Thank you for posting on the Intel Community Forum.

Thank you for sharing the detailed information and the SSU logs—I truly appreciate the effort you’ve put into documenting the issue. This helps us better understand the behavior you’re experiencing.

To further isolate the root cause of the crashes with XeSS Frame Generation, I kindly request your help with a few additional details:

- In which specific games or applications are you experiencing crashes when XeSS Frame Generation is enabled?

- Does the issue also occur when switching between fullscreen and windowed/borderless modes?

- You mentioned using driver version 32.0.101.8824 — have you tried rolling back to a previous stable version or upgrading to the latest version (32.0.101.8826)?

- Which software are you using for streaming or recording (for example, OBS, ShadowPlay, etc.)?

- Does the crash occur only during recording/streaming, or also during normal gameplay?

- Is hardware acceleration enabled in applications such as your browser or streaming software?

Additionally, it would be very helpful if you could share a short video recording demonstrating the issue:

- Before enabling XeSS Frame Generation

- After enabling XeSS Frame Generation (showing the crash/behavior)

This will help us better analyze the scenario and provide more accurate guidance.

Thank you again for your patience and cooperation. I look forward to your response.

Best regards,

CM
