This issue has been resolved with the recent PoE2 0.4 update. XeSS no longer causes a black screen.

Thank you for posting in our Community. I understand that enabling XeSS in the game results in a black screen, and I appreciate you sharing the driver version and the Reddit post highlighting similar reports. We’ll work together to identify the cause and find the best possible solution. 

  • Can you confirm if the black screen occurs immediately upon enabling XeSS, or does it happen after some time in-game? If possible, could you share a video of the black screen when it occurs?
  • Are you experiencing this issue with other games when XeSS is enabled, or only in Path of Exile 2?
  • Have you tried temporarily disabling any overlays, background apps, or in-game settings to see if the issue persists?
  • You mentioned that you cleaned and installed the driver to the latest one. To build on that foundation, what other troubleshooting approaches have you tried?

  • It happens immediately upon enabling XeSS. The black screen reverts when changing the upscaling setting to Off or FSR.
  • No issues with any other games.
  • Steam overlay is disabled.

 

Sorry, no video. I've uninstalled the game (it's an unoptimized mess in general).

Appreciate the response and passing the issue along.

Thank you for your patience in this matter. I’ve successfully reproduced the issue on my end. Enabling XeSS in PoE2 causes a black screen, and I am currently working on a resolution. have same issue on arc GPU tried enabling Xess on my AMD GPU seems to work fine if any value

Hi

Maybe dllxess.dll have been updated (new changes date) with the druided update..... If I change to Xess on main screen or charater loading to Xess it works om my pc (no black screen) and if i do any ingame graphic setting changes game freezes.. hope it's helps
