Severe artifacting in web browsers on driver 32.0.101.6874

The latest drivers introduced severe issues when using web browsers with hardware acceleration.

Every once in a while (occurs about once per hour) the webpage will display severe artifacting and take a few minutes to go away. It seems to happen completely randomly. Though seemeingly most frequently when opening a new tab.
For me the issue manifested in firefox but on r/IntelArc I've found people on other browsers run into the same issue.

Downgrading my drivers fixed the issue. Image of the corruption attached.

It's been a few days so I can reasonably confirm that the 32.0.101.6876 update successfully fixed the issue

Hi, djmrFunnyMan.

Thank you for posting in our Community and for including visual evidence, it’s genuinely helpful. I appreciate you highlighting that downgrading the driver resolved the issue temporarily. This confirms the problem may be tied to recent changes in the driver affecting hardware acceleration compatibility in web browsers. To move this forward effectively, we’d like to gather more details to aid our investigation:

  • What version of Firefox (or other browsers) are you using when this issue occurs?
  • Does the issue persist when hardware acceleration is disabled in the browser settings?
  • Have you noticed any specific actions or websites that consistently trigger the artifacting?
  • Approximately how long after launching the browser does the issue typically appear?
  • Which previous driver version did you roll back to that resolved the issue?
  • Did you perform a clean installation when reverting to the previous driver?
  • Are there any background applications or browser extensions running when the issue occurs?

I'd like to delve deeper and verify specifics like the graphics models, precise driver versions, and any system errors. Utilizing the Intel SSU tool will enable me to collect detailed information about your system setup, which could aid in identifying the underlying cause of this issue. For your privacy and security, I have already sent you an email to collect the SSU reports. Once I receive the logs, I can investigate further and provide better assistance.

Have a nice day!

1. The version is 139.0.1
2. I haven't actually checked
3. No. Though it was seemeingly the most frequent when opening a new tab via middle click
4. Inconsistent. Could be after a few minutes to a full hour
5. I reverted to 32.0.101.6737 as I did not remember which version I had previously
6. Yes I used DDU
7. No background apps. I do have several extensions, those being SponsorBlock, uBlock Origin, Return Youtube Dislike, Tampermonkey and Stylebot
8. The SSU log is already attached to the original post

I'd just like to add that I am getting the same issue in Firefox (139.0.1 64-bit) intermittently after updating my driver. It's happened across various websites usually after a while (maybe an hour) browsing.
