Hi! I'd likely to inform that CIG updated vulkan in the game and it doesnt work now on Intel ARK series. Cant even launch the game with vulkan on.

Only force dx11 Start helps atm.
This can't be the long-term solution. It would be nice to see some reactions or proposed solutions.

Hi Hunni82,
Could you please elaborate how could you force the game to start with dx11 instead of Vulkan?
I've checked the RSI Launcher but I just can't find an option to input startup parameters for the game.

Go into your Users\XXXX\AppData\Local\star citizen\starcitizen_(sc-alpha-4.5.0)_o9epcc_0\GraphicsSettings folder and open the GraphicsSettings.json file. On line 3, you'll see "GraphicsRenderer": 1. Change the 1 to a 0 to force DX11. Be warned, performance is pretty atrocious on DX11.

I'd point out that opening the Star Citizen launcher and getting nothing but a black screen is even more atrocious. Though I've always had good experience with DX11/12 in SC, I know many others have not. Even poor performance is better than black!

The problem has been around for over a month now, people are posting on Reddit trying to find a solution, and Intel hasn't even said who's at fault or whether they're planning to fix it. BRAVO. We can only hope for the developers, and it's good that patch 4.6 is out tomorrow. But I'm not voting for Intel with my money anymore.

Now the game reaches the loading screen, but then crashes with error "2147483651." It still runs smoothly on DX11. Intel apparently isn't going to interfere...

It also happens quite fast during face features blending.
Sometimes buttons still interact with mouse hover but don't do anything when pressed.
Usually the solution to this was to switch from Vulkan to DX11, but this happens on DX11…

ATTN Intel: This topic needs bumped up. Vulkan is now the default API for Star Citizen and DirectX 11 is being deprecated and phased out.
My ARC A750 crashes out when it starts trying to compile shaders under Vulkan. Please investigate this issue or the same will
soon be unplayable on Intel GPUs and it's getting more and more popular!
PLEASE put this over to your driver team to work on!!!
Thanks kindly
