I’m posting this here because at this point I’m convinced this is either an Intel Arc driver issue or a serious Fortnite compatibility problem.
I get FPS drops and constant stuttering ONLY in Fortnite.
Every other game runs completely fine (including heavy AAA titles), stable frametimes, normal GPU usage, no issues at all. Fortnite is the only game that behaves like this.
System specs:
GPU: Intel Arc B580
CPU: Ryzen 5 7600X
RAM: 32 GB DDR5
Storage: NVMe SSD
OS: Windows 11
Re-BAR: Enabled
BIOS: Fully updated B650 prime wifi II ver.3602
Drivers: Latest Intel Arc GPU drivers + latest AMD chipset drivers
What I already tried
Windows reinstall
DX11, DX12 and Performance Mode
Low → Epic settings
FPS capped / uncapped
V-Sync on/off
Background apps disabled
Power plans checked
Symptoms:
Random FPS drops and microstutters
Inconsistent frametimes
GPU usage stays low
CPU is not bottlenecked
Happens regardless of graphics settings
This makes zero sense from a hardware perspective. A 7600X + 32 GB RAM should not struggle with Fortnite at all, yet the game feels worse than on much weaker systems.
At this point I honestly don’t know if:
Fortnite is poorly optimized for Intel Arc
Arc drivers still have major issues with Unreal Engine / Fortnite specifically
Or there’s some deeper scheduling or compatibility problem
What frustrates me the most is that the GPU works great everywhere else, but Fortnite
So I’m asking directly:
Is this a known Intel Arc + Fortnite issue?
Is there an actual workaround or driver fix coming?
Or should people who play Fortnite just avoid Intel Arc GPUs altogether?
Because right now, I honestly cannot recommend this GPU to anyone who plays Fortnite, which is ridiculous given the specs and price.
Any official response or real solution would be appreciated, because I’m completely out of ideas.
