Water Material Display Issue in Cities: Skylines II and Power Consumption of Intel Arc B580

1. About water material display issue:

I am currently using the following system configuration:

  • Operating System: Windows 11 24H2
  • CPU: AMD R9 9900X
  • GPU: Intel Arc B580 12GB

I have updated the driver using Intel Graphics Software to version 32.0.101.6257. While playing Cities: Skylines II, I encountered an issue where the water fails to display correctly, resulting in rendering errors.

2. About power consumption issue:

I have observed that the power consumption of the Intel Arc B580 graphics card in idle mode appears to be relatively high. Using HWiNFO for monitoring, the power draw is approximately 30-40W.

  • Is this power consumption level considered normal for the B580 in idle state?
  • Will there be any updates or optimizations in future drivers to improve idle power consumption?

Hi RiceballFan,

For graphics corruption (per example artifacts, textures corruption or lighting glitches) please use Intel Graphics Software to capture screenshots or a video showing the bug. Regarding the power consumption for this card in idle mode, let me double-check on our end. I will get back to you with accurate numbers, as I'm unable comment on the readings from third-party software.

This screen shot is using Windows 11's system PrtSc.

And video is using "Win+G" open the game center of Windows 11, and record video by this function.

Thank you.

Hi RiceballFan,

Thank you for an update since issue has been resolved by the latest driver allow me to help on your concern about power consumption, based on this article power consumption of Intel Arc Graphics cards (even during Idle state) depends largely on the number of displays connected to the card and each display's resolution/refresh rate.

For most supported configurations to achieve optimal power consumption configure the BIOS as follows: High Power Consumption when Intel® Arc™ Graphics Card is...

Please let me know the results after you've had a chance to try this
