huge fps drop when enable LL

I've tested a few games and there's a huge FPS drop when LL is enabled.
(tested CS2(DX11 guess), FFXV(DX11) , vindictus online(DX11))
I didn't notice it before, but I suspect these frame drops have been there from the beginning.
Because when I turn off LL, the FPS value is higher than before.
I think the reason I noticed this recently is because this drive just had more frame drops when I turned on LL.

it would be like this.
vindictus online : 90fps(no LL) -> 30fpx(w LL)
FFXV : 120fps(no LL) -> 15fps(w LL)
CS2(at lobby) : 120fps(no LL) -> 30fps(w LL)

is there any help for this?

Hello yosoro,

Thank you for posting on Intel Community Forum.

To assist you effectively, please share the information below.

1. Does the FPS drop happen immediately when enabling LL, or does it develop over time during gameplay?

2. Are the frame drops consistent, or do they spike/stutter intermittently?

3. What precise steps/settings reproduce the drop every time?

4. Have you tried performing clean installation using DDU?

5. Kindly share a screenshot of the exact game settings.

Also, we can only accommodate one game per thread to ensure we can provide you with accurate and focused troubleshooting. When you have a moment, please let me know which game you would like us to prioritize.

Additionally, to have a better understanding of your system configuration and components please generate a complete copy of the System Support Utility (SSU) report. Please follow instructions here and send the report - How to get the Intel® System Support Utility Logs on Windows*

I look forward to your response.

Best regards

1&2.
The frame drops occur almost immediately during gameplay.
Furthermore, after further testing, it seems to be affected more by the resolution than the in-game options.
At low resolutions, it's around 90 fps, and at full-screen resolution, it's around 60 fps.
Normally, should reach the max frame rate at the in-game settings.

3.
run game, on/off LL that's all.

4.
yes.

5.

It appears that only driver version 32.0.101.8425 has this issue.
I installed a previous version of the driver (32.0.101.8331) and it didn't have this issue.
What's a bit odd is that when this issue occurs, it seems to lock the frame to a certain number, like a specific frame rate.

Hello yosoro,

Thank you for sharing all this information with me. Just to confirm, do you like us to focus on Counter Strike 2 on this thread? Please also generate CapFrame data and ensure that you play the game for at least 3 minutes.

May I also know if Resizable Bar is enabled?

I look forward to your response.

While using Capx, I learned more about this issue.
This issue seems to be a combination of Vsync and LL.
When Vsync is off and LL is enabled, the frame rate is capped at the monitor maximum refresh rate. (in my case 120fps)
When Vsync is on and LL is enabled, capped at 30 fps.
The explanation isn't completely clear because the menu screen seems to strangely set it to 100-110 fps.

My guess is that there's probably a piece of driver code that sets recommended settings.
Because I remember seeing a Vsync optimization guide video on YouTube that said that enabling Low Latency mode (nvidia reflection, etc.) and Vsync together results in the fastest response time.
If my guess is correct, it seems to be a problem where Vsync is automatically turned on when LL is turned on, and then when Vsync is turned on again in this state, the problem becomes worse.

(Capx detail: 30 sec menu wait, 1 min join bot map patrol, rest of the time stay at corner.)

And the reason why the frame drops aren't as severe as before is probably because CapX affects the Vsync option.
I turned off CapX and tested again, and the frame drops were the same as before.

i forgot to answer.
re-bar enabled.
It doesn't seem to be a problem specific to a specific game, so it probably doesn't matter which game it is.
If this problem is fixed in CS2, the rest will probably be fixed too.

i installed but not fixed.

I've uploaded a video to help you understand this issue. (Not public)
The strange game colors in the video are due to an issue with HDR recording, so don't worry.

Hello yosoro,

Thank you for continuing to troubleshoot the issue. The video you shared demonstrating the behavior was extremely helpful in understanding what’s happening when LL and VSync are enabled. I’ll investigate this further and provide you with an update as soon as possible.

it work great, no longer drop fps.
BUT LL + V-Sync are still weird.
Using LL + V-Sync on a 240hz monitor will limit the frame to 120Hz !
I think someone approached this problem with a brute force approach...
hope there will be an update in the future that addresses this issue in a better way.
For now, i will just don't use V-Sync and LL together.
