We've reviewed your concern and would like to suggest the following troubleshooting steps, which should help improve the situation:


1. Enable Exclusive Fullscreen Mode Some frame generation technologies, including XeSS 2.0, perform better in exclusive fullscreen mode rather than windowed or borderless window modes. Switching to exclusive fullscreen reduces interference from background applications and allows the GPU to operate more efficiently.


2. Update or Reinstall Your Intel Arc Graphics Drivers Please ensure your Intel Arc graphics drivers are updated to the latest available version. Updated drivers include important improvements and fixes that better support XeSS 2.0 features such as frame generation. You can download the latest drivers directly from the Intel Download Center.


3. Disable Hardware Acceleration in Your Music or Browser App If you're running apps like Spotify or a browser (e.g., Chrome) in the background, we recommend disabling Hardware Acceleration within their settings. This frees up GPU resources and gives XeSS 2.0 more headroom to work with.


4. Reduce In-Game Graphics Settings XeSS frame generation works best when there is a stable base frame rate to work from. If your game is already running at a low frame rate, XeSS may not behave as expected. We recommend lowering your in-game graphics settings first to establish a stable baseline before enabling frame generation.

 

5. Perform a Clean Driver Installation Using DDU For the best possible results, we highly recommend doing a clean reinstallation of your graphics drivers using Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU). This removes all remnants of previous driver installations, which can sometimes cause conflicts. You can find DDU on its official page and follow the steps to cleanly reinstall the latest Intel Arc driver.
