Problems with Remoted Reboot

iRollback boot menu is not displayed correctly on iAmt console.(VPRO)

Only the text "Press F3" is displayed. If the user tries to enter in

administration menu (pressing the "F" key), a characters dump is displayed.

Additional Info:

+ Hardware affected: Acer Verition 1000

+ iRollback tested versions: 2.5, 2.6

I attach 2 images.

We try to update BIOS to Acer FTP:
ftp://ftp.work.acer-euro.com/desktop/veriton1000/. We update successfully, but
it doesn't work properly.

We found the same problem with a Toshiba Laptop with the last bios.

Computer info:
+ Model: Toshiba Tecra S5
+ BIOS: Version 1.50, 10/04/2007
+ Intel ME Version: 2.5.16.000

Maybe simplifying the irollback menu (without the countdown) the problem can be resolved.

What is your opinion?

Best regards.

Hi there. First for the F3 key, there are different ways of sending F keys over VT100, Intel AMT Commander supports 3 differents ways, you can change the key mapping in the terminal menu. Just try that first since it's very easy.

For the most part, the BIOS makes the conversion between the text on the screen and the VT100 codes the terminal receives and this process is different between BIOS vendors. I don't have a good solution for you. If you suspect the terminal is causing a problem, you can look at the terminal analyser feature in Intel AMT Commander to see what is sent on the wire and I could fix it... but that's probably not the problem. A simplified menu would hopefuly solve it.
