Questions about SCS server

Greetings.
I'm not sure if i'm posting in the right place. I guess so as this is in AMT section, but sorry in advance if not.
I'm trying to create a SCS server test enviroment, and i have some questions.
Is there any problem if the production machine (the scs server) is virtual?
I've created a test scs server with framework, IIS, SQL 2005 express and certificates. On the documentation it says that 2005 express is not suported for "production" enviroments. Don't quite get why.
Anyway, the main question i have, now that i have the server, is the steps i should follow to make the clients (machines with Vpro on the Bios) to connect to the scs. I've checked the manual and there's some talk about USB. Is the only way to deploy it? Any aditional information about how to configure the clients?

Regards.

Hi notingham,
Thanks for your post. I'm checking with a few other people before responding to your questions. Meanwhile, here's a link to a blog article that might help you: http://software.intel.com/en-us/articles/download-the-latest-version-of-intel-amt-setup-and-configuration-service-scs/

I'm also going to try and forward your post to the vPro Expert Center (http://communities.intel.com/community/openportit/vproexpert/blog/2007/11/07/intel-vpro-expert-center-rock-your-world-contest-submission-time?wapkw=(vPro+Expert+Center)as I believe they might be able to respond to your questions more quickly.

Cheers,
Judy

Thanks, Sorry for the wrong placement.
I've checked that link too, but i'm not quite sure how to "deploy" the configuration for the AMT devices that connect to the scs server. I've seen that you can create a usb key, but the max number of keys it allows you to create is 1024. Cant be more than this number of machines on the enviroment? Anyway, puting an usb to that number of machines is a pain. Sure there can be a standar configuration to put on all machines to connect to the SCS server (without different PID-PPS for each machine).

Hi nothingham,
Your placement was fine, it is just that the vPro Expert Center might have more information about SCS and I wanted you to get help ASAP. I wasn't successful in trying to send your postthere yesterdayunfortunately. I'm going to try again. The link for the Expert CenterI gave you previously is not quite right. This one is better: http://communities.intel.com/community/openportit/vproexpert From this site you can search for information. I entered "SCS" there and got a whole lot of forum posts and blogs which I think might help answer your questions.

Cheers,
Judy

Hi again, Judy.
I don't quite get the expert section, as it seems you cannot directly open a thread. I guess it failed again to move there. Anyway, i'll try to see if there's a responde for my doubts there meanwhile.
Thanks.

Hi nothingham,
I received a response on my request for help for you. Here is the first response:

First there is not an issue to run the SCS Server in a Virtual machine. I do it all the time.

Some Questions to help me give you an answer:

Which version of SCS are you using?
Which Vendor and Model of vPro system are you using?
I need to know which version of ME/AMT you are running and to do this I would like you to run an AMT dignostic utility as a local Administrator on the client machines and attach them to this thread. The utility can be dowloaded from- http://communities.intel.com/docs/DOC-5582

Please attached the diagnostic logs to this ticket

If you will fill out the file and attach it to a reply blog, I'll pass it along.

Cheers,
Judy
