What's the exact issue of the none recommended AMT IP mode?

Hi, all

According to my practice, if the ME uses static IP mode and Gbe uses DHCP mode. The AMT system can work fine. But from the document, the IP mode is not recommended.

Anyone knows the actual risk of this IP mode?

Thanks

Best regards,

Bruce

I suppose that someone who configure AMT/ME to use withstatic IP will change AMT hostname and wrote down that information (AMT hostname and static IP, now I have on my test machine for AMT hostname BFAMT with static ip 192.168.77.7 and for os hostname is BFCOMP and static ip is 192.168.77.8). However, even if DHCP is used for AMT/ME I suggest to change AMT/ME hostname because it is easier to distiguinsh AMT IP with changed hostname.
