Intel VCA GPU acceleration

Hi,

We have recently purchased the Intel VCA card for use with the Intel WebRTC collaboration Suite.
With x3 E3 v4 with Intel Iris Pro Graphics P6300, Broadwell architecture.

All browsers will prefer and select VP8 as the encoded stream format.
It is my understanding that the Iris Pro does not accelerate VP8.
Why is this card recommended? Without writing our own browser, AVC is not used.
Wouldn't it be better to use a high core count E5 processor without graphics, all done in software?

Cheers.
