Intel VM with ZMQ

Hi, I am trying to create a bytestream with ZMQ in Python 3.10, connecting my Intel VM instance to my local computer, but for some reason this does not seem to work. I was wondering if anyone has any experience with this? Are there security protocols in place with the VM preventing me from doing this?
